At first the fit-bit charge 3 started vibrating, then the notification screen kept blinking. then it died.I manage to do an restart on it before it died. I let it charge to the full. it lasted for an hour then it was dead again. It stayed non-responsive. It wouldn't charge. completely dead, so I thought. This morning (12/26/2018) I tried it again, it responded by blinking, vibrating and switching between screens again.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @SunsetRunner! Thanks for restarting your Charge 3 in order to sort this out, nice way to go!
I'd recommend restarting your Charge 3 using the 15-second method:
- Connect the device to the charging cable.
- While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
- The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
- The device turns off.
- The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
- Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
- Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.
Also, while reading your post I was wondering if you removed your tracker either from the Fitbit account or your phone's Bluetooth settings?
Let me know if the issue persists, I'll be around!

Thank you for responding. I've tried everything mentioned. I finally just gaved up and emailed Fitbit.com support. They walked me thru everything you mentioned and then some. Still nothing. It was determined my charge 3 was damaged. They are sending me a replacement.

My charge 3 constantly is showing “screen wake” and “notifications”. I cannot do anything else. When I look at the app on my iPhone it shows a notification in red but nothing there. Do I have defective device??

I'm having the same issue as everyone else. Non stop vibrating and blinking between the screens. I did everything suggested here and in other threads but it seems nothing's working. What should I do?
Since I can find so many comments about the exactly same issue, I feel like Fitbit is selling defective devices without revealing the known issues.

My fitbit is doing the exact same thing. It is continually flashing and vibrating. It goes to the screen wake and strikes through both the wake and the notification settings and then turns them back on and off again and again. I have followed the steps given and it is still doing it. I even did the update thinking that might help and nothing is fixing this, I will need to return this product I only had it a little over a month. It won't stop vibrating and flashing through the screens.

I am having the exact same problem with the screen wake screen, random vibrates and screen flashing. It is also logging active minutes whilst I am sat down.
It's only recently I got the sync problem sorted, would hate to think there's another one 😖

I have tried restarting it numerous times no luck with resetting it, I'm glad it worked for you although its too bad the battery is going dead can’t get much use out of it with a dead battery. Are we waiting for an updated software push with this ticket? I realized I cannot return mine because it's past 30 days. I am very disappointed as I have become dependent on the data from my Fitbit to Gage my fitness progress and sleep pattern.
Blinking and vibrating continuously-problem update: so I left my Fitbit to charge overnight after resetting it at least 20 times, and it stopped blinking, now it’s telling me I’v burned over 7000 calories in one day and that I had cardio activity for over 8 hours, wouldn’t that be nice, right? What a joke. It says my HR is 158-165 all day even when I’m resting, this is ridiculous. These numbers are incorrect ...I have reset it several times now and it is still not reading correctly. Anyone else having these issues? Did anyone else get resolve on blinking and vibrating?

Welcome on board @mjs123 and @Raystones! Thanks for already troubleshooting the issue with your Charge 3 devices.
I've created a case to get you in contact with our Support Team about this. They will be able to work with you and review your options. Please keep a lookout in your inbox to the email address associated with this Fitbit account. Someone will be in contact with you soon.
Hey there @CBA582! Thanks for trying the restart recommended. Note that restarts and firmware updates are demanding on the battery.
In this case, I'd recommend letting your tracker to run out of battery to charge it again. Then, keep an eye on it to see how the battery goes. You can also see, Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life?
Give this a go and let me know how it goes.

I am so frustrated with my Charge 3 and am thinking of trying some other tracker. It vibrates really fast at random times during the day and even in the middle of the night! When that happens, though, the screen never turns on-it just sits there off, taunting me, even when I turn my wrist. Also, when I tip my wrist to check the time, I often only get the notification of how many more steps I need for the hour so I have pretty much given up on using the Fitbit to determine the time. I used to have an older model Fitbit and loved it so I upgraded as a Christmas present to myself. However, I am at the end of my rope with it's inconsistent and baffling performance which can be un-nerving. I went through the trouble shooting steps posted earlier in this thread and the device did not behave like the steps said it would so I'm not confident that it worked-I guess I'll just have to wait to see if I still get fast vibrations at odd times.

I started to have the same problem today and I have restarted my Charge 3 several times, but the problem still persists. And now I have also lost the bluetooth connection with my cell phone and the tracker now displays January 1 as today's date while going back and forth from the home screen to the "Screen Wake and Notifications" screen with intermittent vibrations.

Mine started out with HR stopped working on Saturday then started working on Tuesday but HR was registering very high. I called today and since it is under warranty, I am getting a new one. Tonight it has started blinking and vibrating constantly. So it is doing the same thing as the others. There must be a serious problem.

Mine just started doing the same thing today. Checked for an update and did the reset three times. It will work for about 15 minutes after and then will start vibrating and flashing between the home screen and the screen wake/notifications screen. It sounds like this is happening to enough people that it’s a pretty common issue. What else can be done?
