Welcome on board @Rikko4Health, it's nice to see you here! If your Charge 3 is not charging as it should, test the solutions below:

  • The contacts on the tracker or charging cable are dirty. Clean the charging contacts using the instructions in How do I clean my tracker?
  • If you haven't done so, try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub.
  • The tracker isn’t connected securely to the charging cable. Check the alignment and try reconnecting your tracker to the charging cable. For illustrations and tips on how to know if the connection is secure, see How do I charge my tracker?
  • When in doubt, it doesn't hurt to turn your tracker off and back on. For instructions see  How do I restart my tracker?
  • The tracker is wet. Thoroughly dry your tracker before charging it.

Give this a go and let me know the outcome!

Make sure you fully open the “clips” on the charger before placing your Fitbit in. If you only partially open them the Fitbit will still fit in but won’t make the connection with the charging contacts, so will not charge.

I kept making this mistake when I first got my Charge 3.

My Charge 3 just exhibited charge problems for the first time, on both chargers.  I noticed too that it was frozen on the 1st screen.  Following a forum instructions for fixing a frozen screen, I removed the freeze and got it to begin charging normally too.  All I had to do was connect the charger then poke my fingernail through the side slot to hold in the watch "on" button for like 10 seconds, until the smiley face appeared.  I then disconnected the charger, just to to end that process, then reconnected it.  Upon reconnection the normal battery icon appeared and it's - presumably - happily charging as I type.

Hello, I've tried everything to get my Charge 3 to charge but nothing works. It was fine two days ago but I have not been able to get it to charge

Mine went dead looking a couple days ago.  Nothing on display, nothing when I held in the on button long enough to jog a mile, thought it was dead, then remembered something that worked once before.  hook it up to the charger then stick your fingernail in the slot and hold the on button on until a smiley face appears on the display, then disconnect from charger.  Worked for me.  Good luck!

I also cannot charge my Charge 3. I have tried resetting without success and cleaning. This Charge 3 is only a month old. It has been on the charger now for about 2 hours. It does not vibrate or have any lights on the back. Please help

I am having the same problem as @NickiB3310 .  My fitbit charge 3 has been cleaned, as the instructions mentioned, but it will not charge.  For some reason it won't even reset when I hold the button for a long time.  My spouse has the same fitbit and it will charge right away.

Can you help me get my issue resolved?

Best Answer

If you haven't already tried this, connect the charger cable then poke a fingernail thru the side slot to hold the on button in for like a 20-30 count, until the smiley face appears on the display, then disconnect the cable.  It has worked for me on two occasions when it was looking like a dead thing.

Hi,

I appear to be having problems with charging my device too, it is a charge he 3.

I have tried all of the things suggested on the community forums but without any luck.

Last week when charging it started charging slightly differently with a battery symbol containing an exclamation mark however it did indeed charge.

This week I am not getting anything at all, not even a vibration.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind Regards

Bev

Connect the charging cable.

Insert your fingernail into the slot on the charger to reach the on button and depress it, CONTINUING TO HOLD IT DOWN until you see a smiley face on the dial.  It may take a LONG time, like a 30 count or more.

When/if the smiley appears, disconnect the charging cable.

Restart watch.  You may need to hold it on again for a second or two.

If this doesn't work, call customer support.
