Charge 3 won't connect

My fitbit charge 3 won't connect to my phone. I get as far as pairing the tracker and then it just says connecting and sorry, the setup is taking longer than usual. Please be patient. We're on it. 

I haven't been able to connect it to my phone for about 1.5 months now and I haven't even had my charge 3 for 4 months yet. 

 

Please help, tried everything i can think of and that has been suggested on these forums

@Nov19 I hope you're doing well.

Sorry to hear that your Charge 3 isn't connecting with your phone. Which phone do you have and which OS version is it running? Is its OS up to date? I don't know which troubleshoots you have tried but I suggest you clear the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.

Hi these trouble shooting methods doesnt work and this problem have been common for many charge 3 users for at least 1.5 months already.  We hope that you can solve it as soon as possible. It is probably a software update bug. Please get back to us with a splution thank you.
