Charge 3 won’t pair or sync with iOS devices

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have tried all the tricks of turning off, turning back on Bluetooth on iPhone, putting Charge 3 in the charger and holding the side button until the 🙂 appears, holding my mouth sideways, etc. Nothing is working. It seems to have started after the latest software update on my iPhone. Is anyone else having problems?

I was just sitting reading the suggestions and was in the Bluetooth settings and pushed the “Forget this Device” then pushed to pair again and viola it reconnected and my Fitbit App synced and refreshed. This really works

I took the advice from a post i saw and turned off the bluetooth on my phone, loaded my fitbit account on my wife’s phone, turned off bluetooth on my wife’d phone, turned on bluetooth on my phone and my phone paired with my Fitbit. I haven’t been able to get my front page to look like it did before, but i’m taking a break from all this frustration. Disappointed in Fitbit.

Hello everyone! I apologize for the late response to you all, due to recent events affecting our operations, we're taking longer to respond.

I'm sorry to hear about the syncing or pairing difficulties you've been experiencing with your Charge 3 and iOS devices. I appreciate your feedback for the Fitbit Charge 3 and your efforts in solving the issues.

Please note that our main purpose is to avoid negative experiences to our customers, we're always willing to help and provide troubleshooting steps.

I've seen some of you have already contacted our Support TeamI'm glad for the ones who the issue is now fixed, but for the ones who are still working with our Support Team I'd suggest to keep your conversation with them as they know what's the next step to try after everything you and our team have done together.

I'm here to assist rest of you who still need help. I'd like to start confirming that everyone has followed the troubleshooting steps provided in these help articles: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? or Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

If you have done as described in the articles, please check the following:

- Open Settings app on phone
- Scroll down, tap Fitbit -> Toggle Location to 'Always'
- Ensure toggles next to Bluetooth and Background App Refresh are turned ON

If the above has also been tried, please do the following:

1. Remove the Charge 3 from the Bluetooth settings (in case you have more Fitbit devices that are no longer in use, please also remove them). Also,

2. If you use to use more than one iOS (Android or computer also) device to sync, please remove the Charge 3 from all phones you may have it connected to.

3. Restart your Charge 3 once again.

4. Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use.

5. Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.

6. Setup your Charge 3 again to your main phone and please make sure that other devices aren't nearby.

Give this a go and let me know if the steps recommended work for you.

Have just got mine to sync with iphone X (problems since most recent update).

Told Bluetooth on phone to "forget" the charge 3.

Plugged the charger into the laptop and popped in the Charge 3 expecting to have to pair it from scratch.

It synched and paired very quickly, but did give me an anxious minute when it showed twice my steps for today as the total.  Has now behaved and is showing as connected in iphone bluetooth settings for the first time since the iphone update.

Thank you. I have tried that several times. The first time it appeared that the Charge 3 was paired. Later i noticed the synch was not happening. I tried it several more times and my iPhone does not now even list the Charge 3 as a device.

Thanks for helping. I wonder why we are hearing only crickets from Fitbit.

Thanks,again.

Have just managed to do this.  Told  iphone bluetooth to "forget" my charge 3.

Started process to pair it again by plugging it into the charger connected to my laptop.

It worked - didn't have to pop in a pairing code either. The iphone somehow picked up the device and connected it via bluetooth as usual and it synched.

Good luck!

Tried, and it finds the charge 3, but still won’t connect. After an hour of chatting with customer service, where she had me do again everything on their troubleshoot page that I’d already done, she said they have a team working on the problem. Which probably means, we don’t have any idea how to correct your problem. I know it has to do with the iOS update, because that’s when the problem began.

Well, that won’t work for me because she had me delete my device and start over with the set up device. So now it finds the tracker but won’t connect to it.

Sorry to hear this. No idea why it worked for me.

Have had it 2 weeks (was using a charge 2) and think the charge 3 generally has been difficult to synch even before this update. Also it seems to count more steps/stairs than the charge 2, with me doing my usual jog. ☹️

Whoopee! I think it’s working. I assumed the device had been removed from Bluetooth, too, so when I check, it was still there, told it to forget it and it linked up. You should get the pay the customer service got! Thank you so much!

I started having the same issue after my IPAD updated. My Fitbit syncs with my Android just fine and also when I use the website but my IPAD app says no device found and Bluetooth settings will not connect. I sent several messages to support on twitter but still no response to the problem.

my old charge 2 still can sync with my iPhone, while cherge 3 cannot. I tried to restart the tracker several times but still not working.. there is iOS  13.4.1 running on my phone; I do not know when it was updated

I just updated to 13.4.1 on my IPAD and I tried everything imaginable to get it to connect. I deleted the app, rebooted my Charge 3 several times, and it still won’t connect. Very frustrating indeed.
