I know there are only like 3 people that have this device right now, but if anyone else that has it can check...is yours syncing ok? Mine last synced 4 hours ago and when trying to force a manual sync it wouldn’t get past “looking.” I tried the usual fixes - turning bluetooth off and on, removing the C3 from the app and my phone and attempting to re-add it, power cycling my phone...nothing works. The user manual says to press the side button for 8 seconds to reset, but all that does is bring up the screen wake/notifications toggle screen. Just issues due to it being new/unreleased, or is it possible it crapped out on me already?!

i had the same issue. i went overseas and when i changed the sim, charge3 synced correctly to that country timezone..but when i came back, it could never sync back to usa time. just showed trying to update and sync !!! tried every thing meaning, loggin out from app , uninstalling and reinstalled app from phone couple of times, restarting phone couple of times, rebooting charge3 couple of times, unpairing charge3 from phone list of devices on bluetooth ,and tried re-installing as a new device again from fitbit app...but nothing worked. the phone app could track the charge3 when i added as new device on the app and it would try to track the tracker and succeed BUT the screen that shows the code to pair it shows up, the code comes on tracker, and once you enter that code on phone, it would get stuck at that screen where you put the code and says CONNECTING..but would never connect , never pair.
all of the above i wasted 3 hours and about 1 hour on phone with fitbit rep but they always get disconnected (3 times and sad they never called back.).finally i tried ERASING data from tracker setting menu and guess what ! it did the trick... now when i tried to pair the charge3, it gave me the code and connected/paired !

I tried this solution but do not get a pairing or sync. I plug in the FBC3, press for 8 sec, get the smiley face, then try to pair. The phone finds the FBC3 and the code appears. Typing the code into the phone sets the FBC3 to the 13 dot square while pairing then freezes. The C3 shows the circle X then goes back to normal display. The iPhone is still "connecting to fitbit" after 15 min.

I followed up by erasing the data, resetting the Bluetooth and starting over. Same thing happens. The code screen on my phone is showing the code and "connecting to Fitbit" for over 15 min with no change. The FB3 screen is still plugged in to the charger but is showing normal screen when touched. iPhone 8 is showing Charge 3 connected but does not hold for long. No pairing. I'm about to send this one back.

I too had a similar problem with both my Charge 2 and later with my Charge 3 when using the app on both an iPhone and iPad AND bluetooth connecting the tracker to both mobile devices one t a time, and attempting to switch between... As nice as this would be, I’ve found that bluetooth connecting the tracker to ONE device ONLY, resolves the problem. I still have the app on both, and review data, challenges and messages on both, but only blue connect to Charge 2/3 to ONLY ONE mobile device ... usually my phone, since I always have that with me. Hope this helps ...

Tried everything everyone suggested to no avail. Seems my phone was in dire need of a software update and I didn't know as the updates were set to manual

I just reconnected the Charge 2. No problem, instant pairing and sync. It's not my phone or anything else.

@scienceteacher go into your app, the device, then notifications and enable it. Once notifications is enabled they will be pushed through.

I really wish I would have known this before I lost 13 days worth of Data and about an hour with a Tech who just said my phone wasn't compatible which I know it was. I reset the data on the watch and TaDa! it synced again. Hopefully this will never happen again, or so I know how to reboot it and apparently just need to erase old data.
Again I'm pretty upset I lost 13 days. But here goes to trying again!
