You only delete the ch3 link associated with the app.  You do not delete the actual account or reset the Ch3.

In the Android phone version of the app, you do this:-

Tape the sync fitbit image, top right

Press the bin image, top right.

Thanks for the reply.  I did that process and finally got it to sync but only once.  The next day, same problem.  I don't want to have to go through that every day.  Unfortunately, seems to be the inconvenience of living in an area with poor connectivity.  Looks like I will have to deal with it or return it.

It is a challenge.   You should not need to follow the fix procedure (of disconnect the CH3 from the app then re-link) every time.  I found my main problem was having 'Always Connected' and 'Keep Alive Widget' turned on.  I can have 'All Day Sync' on, now.

Poor internet access is probably a secondary contributor.  Until I turned off those two settings I could not sync regardless of using mobile data, wi-fi on my phone nor wired connection to the net on a pc.

If you have poor mobile data connectivity, all I can suggest is to ensure the two settings are off then try syncing the CH3 to a pc (with the app installed) connected directly to the net. Move the phone as far away from the pc as possible (turn off your mobile phone bluetooth if you have to) and ensure not other phones/tablets/pcs are trying to link to your CH3 as well via bluetooth. The CH3 will only be visible/accessable to one device at a time.  Now try the regular sync process on the pc.

Thank you.  I tried turning those two things off and it has been syncing fine today.  The test will be when I go back to work.  Even worse service there.  Like living in the stone ages I feel like sometimes.

I have tried all of the instructions several times and my Charge 3 just isn't syncing (to my iPhone 7)...When I emailed Fitbit they said they are having a problem and a resolution is soon to come.  I noticed these messages are all from Oct.  I am writing in January and assume it is still not resolved?

Please let me know if an option exists, otherwise I will return it .  Thanks

Hi

Please keep I mind that I am just a helpful user on this site. I have only been sharing my experience since about the beginning of last week and I'm fairly sure that it's Jan 2019 (even in Australia) .  My experience is based on the Android version of the app.  Good internet access seems key either way.

Same here. Unpaired it from my phone as per the instructions then my Samsung Galaxy s8 couldn't see it. I've tried rebooting multiple times, tried plugging it in to charge and resetting multiple times-always a smiley face but no vibration and tried turning my phone off, then on. My phone can then see it for a few attempts but it says it cannot pair with my charge 3. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app about 3 times. I'm trying to take it off off my account to see it I can do a new set up but everytime I do the app continues to try syncing with it. I can't install the update. Yesterday my charge was 10 mins slow, today it is 15 mins slow.

All I can suggest is to turn off All the special sync options 'All day sync', 'Always Connected' and 'Keep Alive Widget'.  It could also possibly need GPS off.  Then unpair in the app, turn off Blue Tooth then back on again.  Then with every thing on charge, good internet and very close together - try to re-pair.  If it pairs up then if there is a lot of data on the CH3 then this may take up to 2 hrs to sync.

Bought Charge 3 last fall shortly after its release. Has worked fine for the most part, syncing w/ app on my iPhone and iPad mini - until yesterday, when it failed to sync to either. Since yesterday afternoon I have tried pretty much everything suggested in this thread. The Charge 3 has been reconnected and has synced a couple of times but then stops syncing again. It was working last night on both devices when I went to bed.  This morning . . . no syncing on either device again.  Ran thru some of the thread suggestions again and got the Charge 3 to sync to my iPhone. BUT, it does not show my sleep. I like the device, but it is useless unless it performs as promised/advertised. Any suggestions?

Hi,

This wont fix it but, one observation.  My wife has a CH3 as well and syncs via an iPhone 5.  She has not had any problems but she also has not been able to install the last program update of the app.  So she is not using the update that came out a little while ago.  Maybe nothing, but its curious.

Thanks, Gyro77. As an FYI, I also went to the Charge3 user manual and took the added step of restarting the Charge3. I've been able to set the Charge3 with my iPhone since doing that, but my iPad Fitbit app isn't finding the tracker when I go to set the Charge3 up as a new device.  Next step, I'm afraid, is to call customer service (for what it's worth).

Is your phone in the same room as the iPad when you try to sync?   It will only link up to one device at a time.  Try turning off phone and then try to sync with iPad.

Ugh!  I got this stupid Charge 3 for Christmas.  Have NOT been able to sync it to my Note 8 since Dec 31.  I have tried EVERYTHING.

Does anyone have a suggestion?  My next step is to return it and get a different brand.  I loved my Charge 2  and was a beta tester for the 2 but I broke it so got a 3.  May have to say good bye to Fitbit if I cant get the tracker to sync.

I'm gave that a try this morning, although it appeared the phone did a sync while the iPad mini was nearby (but not showing a connection to the Charge 3).  Then I turned the phone completely off and went back to the mini to see what it would do.  It synced up right away. I'm not sure if this is the remedy, but it seems to have worked (though proximity was never a problem before) and I'm continue to continue to separate the two devices first thing in the morning whey I do the initial sync. Another note - once the first sync has occurred with each device getting the Charge 3 and the two devices to complete further syncs during the day doesn't seem to be a problem.

That's good to hear.  It is my understanding that 'once' the ch3 has paired and connected with a device, it will persist in staying connected to that device even if there is another device in the room.  Thus, your ipad could be in the room but it will not connect until the other connection is lost.  From your previous post - did the sleep record this time?  It may have just been two independent trouble events occurring at the same time.  Sleep monitoring can be affected with just having an odd position of the body while sleeping

[or you did not wear it 🙂 ].

Gyro77,

that is not always the case, I last got mine to sync dec 26th.. and no success since then. I am just ready to chuck it for something else; this is the worst fitbit I have had.
