On my fitbit bit charge 3 when you hold button in: the display shows the DND, Sleep and screen wake. How do I get the display to show Notification on my fitbit?

Scroll up from clock face to see notifications.  The Notification option that you could see with side button push I think has been replaced with DND 'Do Not Disturb'

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

What "verification"?  wasn't the "Notifications" just to turn them on or off?
