Charge 4 battery issue

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Like so many others, my Charge 4 has been affected by the rapid battery depletion issue.   I see dozens, probably hundreds of messages on this board from affected owners and a stream of unhelpful responses from the moderators telling us to turn off other features to extend the battery life.  Obviously, the issue isn't about extending the battery life, it's why did the battery life suddenly go from days to hours?  At this point, I'm concluding that I need a new device.  But the lack of integrity demonstrated by Fitbit to not directly address this issue tells me all that I need to know about them. Had they owned the issue by saying something like "this behavior happens when the battery begins to die" or "we're looking into a possible software issue", I'd be more inclined to buy another Fitbit product.  But they dodge the issue by telling us to turn off GPS functionality or disable O2 monitoring (which are clearly not the issue!).

Moderator edit:  updated subject for clarity

Sadly, these folks lack integrity.  I'll not do further business with Fitbit because of the sleazy manner in which they are avoiding this issue.   It's clear that I need a new device but it will not be made by Fitbit!    Good luck to those of you who decide to give Fitbit another try - my guess is that you'll regret that decision in a year or two.

Waste of time trying to get support, trash company and trash products. They're only built to work properly for around a year till the warranty expires then fitbit won't replace them.  Cut your losses, throw it in the bin and go with a different company and make sure you warn others to stay away at all costs.

The moderators "added clarity" by removing the word "dishonest" from the subject as it was originally submitted.  This board is hosted by Fitbit and they have the right to censor unfavorable opinions if they choose.  But Fitbit either doesn't know why their devices are dying suddenly or they know and are not disclosing it to their customers.  If they don't know, they're incompetent.  If they know but don't disclose it, they're dishonest.  I believe that they know but not disclosing to customers.

That's why I used dishonest in the subject and have decided not to do further business with a disreputable organization.   You should consider these facts before buying another Fitbit product.
