I loved my charge 4!!!
I had it for only a little over a year and the connector where the wristband attaches broke.
It is plastic. My Alta has a metal connector and metal on the wristband connection. My Charge 4 Fitbit works , I just have no way to wear it!! Does Fitbit make a Fitbit with metal connectors. I see this is a BIG problem with this style wristband connector. Just ridiculous that it lasted just over a year !!!!
Fitbit will offer you a 35% discount off a new smartwatch. I find this a poor response to a know. design flaw that owners have reported since 2019. I purchased a smartwatch case at Amazon. These watch bands have a case that secure the broken fitbit snugly. I paid about $15 for mine but there's a $7.50 version is your wrist is over 5".
My chat was with the US site, so it seems neither the US or UK are trying to provide decent customer service and accountability for this design defect. The activity tracker works well.so purchasing a smartwatch case from Amazon was worth it, but I'll not buy another Fitbit when this one dies.

Best AnswerSince April 2022 I have had 4 open cases concerning the broken frame on my under-warranty Charge 4 as well as missing metrics on 2 replacement Charge 4s that were sent to me. Despite the fact that neither had the full functionality of the original (they are refurbished units) Fitbit is unwilling to take any action that will leave me, as a customer, satisfied. You will just get stuck in a never-ending cycle - there is no customer complaint process or any way to escalate any matter or issue that you raise with Customer Support. The original fitbit is fully functional except for the broken band connector on the frame - just like the OP and countless others.
I suggest that you take a look at the following thread on the Forum:

You are not alone!
Juan, with all due respect, this is the canned response from Fitbit moderators. Users have posted about the standard "35% off" reply from Fitbit, and how that resolution offer is unsatisfactory. It becomes insulting when the moderator’s advice is to call customer service and report the problem. Users have been doing this for 3 years. Why not pay for the wristband case that works with a broken Fitbit instead of offering a 35% discount for a new or refurbed product with a known defect?
Also why close a thread and suggest a new one be started? Is it to minimize users seeing the number and age of the complaints about this problem?
Thank you for this! I'm having the same issue with my Charge 4 and will immediately go buy this. Again, THANK YOU for saving me from having to buy a new tracker (other than FitBit!)
You're welcome. Many of us have written about how much we've love the tracker, so it's strange that the company's resolution efforts are so poor. They're getting loyal customers upset for the cost of a $16 corrective action. It's just nuts! (And that Goseth wristband is perfect for the Fitbit 4).
This happened to me during the first year and they replaced it for free. It just happened now again, thankfully still within the first year, so hopefully they will replace it again, but not sure why they changed the connectors from the metal variety of the old model to this cheap, plastic version. Such a shame.

Best AnswerMine just broke again, after being replaced 6 months or so, ago. It was/should be still under warranty. The Charge 4 has been a nightmare.
I still have my original Charge 2, I've had charge it yet, again, until I can have the connector issue fixed again. My Charge 4 has had to be replaced twice, thus far. The first time, it just died, fitbit replaced it, then the connector broke, replaced again, now again. My trustee Charge 2 is ticking, I only replaced because the screen was cracked and doesn't look very nice...
Best AnswerIsn’t it amazing! My charge 4 just two weeks short of two years and the same thing happened to me. Bands started falling off without any provocation. Switched bands and cleaned connections with soft tooth brush thinking dirt buildup on connection. Kept happening. Then yesterday off it came for good. I’m beginning to see why charge 4 no longer on market. Hope 5 holds up longer or I’m off to competitor. Thanks Fitbit for all your “support.”
