Charge 4 not receiving text notifications

I just got the new Charge 4 yesterday. I set it up and synced it to my phone. It is not getting text notifications. I've tried rebooting it, turned on and off Bluetooth, made sure notifications are on in the app. Still nothing.

This does not work for making texts come through on the Fitbit

This also has not worked for my charge 4 to receive messages.  I would like to get this to work or I will be swiftly ditching my *brand new* Charge 4 for an iPhone watch for good.  I enjoy my Fitbit so I would like for it to work.  Thanks!

I’m having the same issue and have gone through every troubleshooting step multiple times with no resolution (toggle Bluetooth settings on and off, toggle on and off “share system notifications”, delete app and reinstall, clear Fitbit data and reestablish connection with my phone, etc). I’ve checked all settings and they’re enabled to display texts. The weird thing is every other notification type works, only texts aren’t coming through.

I too am in the boat with the folks that still haven't been able to get the notifications to work. Even after all of the trouble shooting procedure that has been provided. I've done everything from turn my settings on and off, restarted my devices, checked for firmware updates, made sure that Do Not Disturb is off, etc.

I'll give it a couple more days, and then will be returning my Fitbit if these features are still lacking because in addition to being an exercise device, this was supposed to be a nice peripheral for my phone with the ability to notify me of texts and calls.

By some miracle I just got my text notifications to work. I have an iPhone and changed “Show Previews” to “always” (notifications —> messages —> Show previews). I know for a fact I tried this before and it didn’t work, tried after the recent firmware update too. Not sure what the difference maker was, but it’s working now.

I was having the same problem. Finally figured it out yesterday. In the notification settings on your under messages you have to have the notification center turned on.

Settings>Notifications>Messages...Then under the first category (ALERTS) make sure that all 3 boxes are checked. It worked for me, hopefully it works for you!

Hello - this has not worked for me!
I have tried all of the recommendations, including the ones below about notifications 'always' etc but nothing is working.
The frustrating part is that is has worked, but then it just stopped, and now I cant get them back again.

Same here. Mine quit working after my new charge 4 updated. It was working before the update.

This was the fix for me.  Thanks!

Turning show previews to always under Notifications-->Messages was the fix for me.

Same here.  Text message alert not working with new update.  Please fix this.  I returned and got another Fitbit charge 4.  Same thing.  Text message alert still not working.  Fix this. We tried everything you said.  It’s a glitch within Fitbit update.

Ditto.  I did the same thing.  Sams exact problem.

Oh wow, that worked for me as well.  Settings-Notifications-messages: turning show previews to always.  Unfortunately, I don’t want the previews shown, just want it to alert me when I get a text message.  Fix your glitch Fitbit!

It has taken me a week to finally get text messages to show up. Come to find out under settings/notifications/messages

my box “show previews” was set to “never”. Unfortunately it only works when “always(default)” is checked and I purposely set my phone to never so you couldn’t read messages on my locked screen. It would be nice if Fitbit changed this setting bc on my charge 2 this was set to “never” and still worked.

Everyone here is the solution

After purchasing a Charge 4 I noticed that I wasn’t getting any type of Notifications at all,

I had no issues with my Charge 3 with notifications at all.

To solve this issue I tried everything with no joy

- reinstall the app

- re setup the device & paired it

- read countless solutions on the forums and tried with no luck

- cruised the web with no luck

I finally gave up and went on with life..

And the Solution is to change a setting on the actual tracker after I did this my notifications

working immediately!!

Do the following- Go to setting on your Charge 4 Scroll to DND and turn it off as far

as I can tell my Charge 4 had DND turn on right out of the box turning it off solved it

Ive done this and read other forums surrounding this issue. Restarted device, disconnected device, updated on both ends, and checked all the boxes. Im not sure where to go from here.

Had same issue found my fitbit charge 4 was in sleep mode

figured it out today! Trick for me was to go into Bluetooth setting on iPhone and then choose the device and click the information icon and turn in share notifications.
