I just got the new Charge 4 yesterday. I set it up and synced it to my phone. It is not getting text notifications. I've tried rebooting it, turned on and off Bluetooth, made sure notifications are on in the app. Still nothing.

I got the Charge 4 in Sept and it has worked fine, but for the past week I have not been able to see texts or incoming calls on the device.
This is what worked for me:
1. Unpair from Android phone
2. On the tracker, go to 'about' , and 'reboot device'.
3. Then repair with phone
4. Open the Fitbit app and check that the notifications are on. You can then click 'more' at the top to send a test call to the device.

Thanks so much!! I've been going crazy doing all the same stupid steps Fitbit keeps repeating when clearly it doesn't work as so many people are having this problem, but after reading so many responses I'm so glad I came across yours that I created an account just to upvote you and give your answer visibility as it fixed the problem with my mom's Fitbit. Her DND setting on the actual Charge 4 was "On" too. Why Fitbit would default that setting to "On" is **ahem**ic, but whatever I turned it off and BAM everything started working, texts and phone call notifications come in perfect now (fyi - our Fitbit Charge 4 is paired to an iPhone X, in case matters to anyone).

Everyone here is the solution
After purchasing a Charge 4 I noticed that I wasn’t getting any type of Notifications at all,I had no issues with my Charge 3 with notifications at all.
To solve this issue I tried everything with no joy
- reinstall the app
- re setup the device & paired it
- read countless solutions on the forums and tried with no luck
- cruised the web with no luck
I finally gave up and went on with life..
And the Solution is to change a setting on the actual tracker after I did this my notifications
working immediately!!
Do the following- Go to setting on your Charge 4 Scroll to DND and turn it off as far
as I can tell my Charge 4 had DND turn on right out of the box turning it off solved it

For me the solution was to turn off “screen wake” on the device.

That worked for my wife’s Charge4, thanks.
Terrible customer setup instructions from Fitbit!! Maybe Google will show them how it is done properly!

I am having the same problem. Notifications came through fine first couple of days now not working. Checked settings and all as before. Tried all suggestions listed here but nothing works. Thinking might have to ditch the fitbit.

Thanks so much for this, as this was the problem with mine. At some point, Do Not Disturb got turned on without my knowing.
I have a Charge 4 connected to iPhone 11.

I tried the suggestions in the Best Answer link and like others - they did not work. This, however did:
1) On iPhone > Settings > Notifications > Messages > Options > Show Previews: Select "Always (Default)"
2) On your Charge 4, go to Settings, and set Do Not Disturb to OFF.
After a frustrating few days I'm pleased to say the notifications are now working.

My wife had the same problem. We went through every suggestion and rebooted the fitbit. That didn’t work so we then rebooted the phone after trying everything and it then worked. Certainly a glitch in the fitbit software.....

Hi, When I got my first Fitbit Alta HR it was smooth - everything worked right out of the box, including receiving texts and calls.
This Fitbit Charge 4, while really really nice! would not receive any texts or calls. I must have looked in a million different places and tried a bunch of stuff that worked for others but nothing worked on mine. Then I finally found the problem. You have to click through a few taps to get there but when I did, voila - Fitbit was not turned on. I've listed the steps below but please note, I'm using it with an LG Android phone; don't know if that would change anything though. Good luck.
- Open Fitbit Charge 4 app on your phone
- Tap your account icon upper left corner
- Tap your Charge 4 setting
- Under General, tap Notications
- Then lastly, tap App Notifications (manage app notifications on your wrist)
- Go down the app list and turn on Fitbit when you find it.

I finally figured this out on my own, but then I got on here and found your comment, so I’m voting it as the best (and only helpful) answer! It had nothing to do with the Fitbit or Bluetooth settings—just had to turn on previews for the Messages app and boom, there they all were. Awesome.
