The only way I can get the charge 4 to display is to push the button on the side. Seems to have started about 4 days ago or so.

I posted with the idea to help out. Contacted FitBit Support and was told to make sure Sleep Mode and DND were not on. Then was told to make sure Screen Wake was on. I was told you can tell it is on if it was lit. I had to physically push on the screen, to turn the Screen Wake setting on. Then I navigated back to the Clock Face. Screen Wake has been working for me since - when I have this arm motion, and try to look af the screen like reading a watch, I see the FitBit info readily displayed on the screen.
Just as an fyi, this was initially working fine for me after the initial configuration. What broke the Screen Wake functionality was when I applied the suggested FitBit update. After the update, the Screen Wake would not work, until I called FitBit Support and followed the suggested steps.

I’ve never achieved screen wake since getting Charge 4 in July. Followed the tips below- still doesn’t work. Been having other gps issues and getting help from Customer Service who have done a couple of resets in last week. Further ideas welcomed...

Thanks for sharing the issues experienced with your Charge 4 and for your efforts in contacting our Support team. In regards to your first question, even though you've tried some steps, may I know if the Screen Wake is turned on? Did you make sure the Sleep Mode and DND mode were turned off? Have you also tried the restart process? These details will help me to investigate on my end and continue helping you.
About your other question, is the issue with your Charge 4 not connecting to the GPS? Did you try using the other GPS functions? If you haven't done so, I'd recommend to check this help article which also includes some troubleshooting tips to ensure its connection.

Hi @JEBHeaton and @Zappadosis. It's great to see you in this thread.
Thanks for taking the time to troubleshooting your trackers with the suggestions posted above. As you may know, your tracker's screen turns when you turn your wrist toward you. However, you need to make sure the Screen Wake, DND and Sleep Mode settings are set correctly. That being said, please hold the button of your Charge 4 and swipe left to access the quick settings screen. Then scroll down to find the Screen Wake settings and make sure it's turned on. When you turn it off, the icon appears dim with a line through it.
