Charge2 is syncing, but bluetooth not working

Hi - there seems to be a few posts on this, but I cannot find a solution.  I currently have a Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and a Charge2 that is about 10 months old.  A couple of months ago (I suspect after a phone upgrade) my Charge2 Bluetooth stopped working.  The App is syncing my data and will generally track my runs (although it sometimes takes a while and looses signal), but I do not get call or message notifications.  I keep getting a message on the app that there are bluetooth issues and to try again, but it is repeatedly not pairing.  I have tried restarting the phone, restarting my Charge2, uninstalling the app, deleting the Charge2 from the app and re-attaching it, restarting my Charge2, restarting bluetooth, the app has all permissions granted.  However, I have not been able to get it to successfully pair.

Anyone have any advice?

Thanks

@Dylan74 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 notifications and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. I suggest you refresh the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

Please be aware that Android users are having issues syncing with Android 9 (Pie), you can check this thread to keep up to date with this.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks @AlvaroFitbit .  I have tried your suggestion.  However, it still does not work.  My data is syncing, but it cannot connect to Bluetooth. I've updated firmware and updated my phone, so I am assuming this is the Android 9 issue.

I notice that my phone (Samsung A8) is not on the list of supported devices anymore.  Do you know if this is going to change?  I am looking at upgrading my fitness tracker and would be interested in a Fitbit Versa, but I cannot get another Fitbit device if this issue is not resolved.

Thanks
