The screen has cracked in 2 places all the way down the centre and on the left hand side on my fitbit 2. It still works fine but I would like to get the screen replaced. Any ideas please

I do worry now I've taken replacement whether it will happen again due to
the design fault. I doubt they would replace again 😞
Maybe I should have paid the extra a bought a newer one.

I hear the 3 screen is not that good either. There’s a thread in here somewhere.

My screen cracked after a year and a half of being very careful. I have no idea what caused the crack. What options do I have?

Best Answer
Mine was the same. You need to contact customer services. They won't give you a replacement as out of warranty but they did offer a 25% discount on a new one. Mine still works so going to keep it until I need a new one then I'll look for another make.

Interesting to hear others say it happened without having a big hit beforehand, as I noticed mine had cracked after having put it in my bag so it wouldn’t get wet. I thought it was my fault and perhaps I’d unknowingly knocked it. However it still works without any issues. I’m a little disappointed  to hear it can’t have the screen replaced like a phone. I’ve tried a glass cover to protect the screen more, but the surface seems to be uneven so the screen protection ends up getting dust under it and not staying on well at all. Will wait until it stops working before I replace my FitBit.

Not a glass screen protector, as the face is curved. Use a screen protector
made especially for Fitbit Charge 2. There’s 6 in the box and they are easy
to put on, last a long time, and keep out any water.

What you need is a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) screen protector.  They are flexible, somewhat elastic, and somewhat self-healing.  Often claim to be military grade.  Inexpensive.  Work well on screens that curve.

I have used Xtremeguard on all my electronics for years.

There are many other companies that sell them.  Choose whatever company and price you like.

I just found a crack in my Fitbit Charge 2 last night.  It's still working but I'm concerned it will get water into it while I'm traveling this weekend.  Any options for replacing the screen?

Since December 2016 I have had two Fitbit 2 and both for no reason have cracked screens right down the left hand side it must be a fault with the watch, am now going to buy an Apple watch.

Have had two Fitbit 2 since 2016 and both have cracked screen from top to bottom for no reason. I won’t be buying another fitbit.

Thanks for the suggestion on the flexible screen protectors in a 6-pack.  I just ordered some; maybe I can keep my Charge 2 alive, crack and all, for a somewhat normal lifetime.

Here is the link to order them for anyone interested.

Glad you found them. I hope they work for you to extend the life of your
Fitbit. So far the screen protector is holding mine together, we’ll see for
how long.

I’m having the same issue: one long and two short very cracks. Sounds like a pretty serious design flaw. Think I’ll go with alternative when this one dies.
