Custom challenge not updating steps

I am in a custom challenge for 30 days and today it has not pulled in 17k steps.  Tried quitting app, log out/in and still not updating. Time zone is not an issue.  Dashboard and step total In the app are correct.  Any suggestions please?

@tiggrsmall I hope you're doing well! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

 

Let me help you with your custom challenges not reflecting your steps and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Have you manually logged any activities? Do you have any third party app linked to your account that can do this? Manually logged activities won't count toward challenges. If this is a group challenge try exiting the challenge, sync your device and join again.

Hi and thanks.

Everything happened in Fitbit.

Went to sync in the evening with 17k on my tracker. The app sort of went for a crash ride and although it showed 17k steps, nothing went through to the web page or onto the Custom Challenge.

I did a manual log of steps but as you say these manual additions don't go through to the challenge.

The issue was with the initial ‘crash’ and inability to sync thereafter.

Logging out of both app and web page made no difference. The app behaved as though the sync was complete, but it wasnt. Even doing more steps then trying to sync did nothing. Only next day did things go back to normal but the 17k was gone for good.
