Display AND pairing issues

I have a display screen issue with my charge 3. Nothing but black screen.

I've read that a hard reset can fix this, but no dice for me.  The device still buzzes when I press the button, but holding for 15 seconds doesn't result in anything showing in the screen.

 

I've also read that chancing the screen face can fix a black screen, but I've lost pairing on my device. When trying to re-pair in order to change the screen it asks for a code - which I can't see because of the black screen.

Arg!

Anyone got any other ideas?
