Distance tracking incorrectly - new phone

Hi!

Ive been using the Fitbit charge 2 for a good while now with no issues.

I have a new mobile handset (Samsung S10E) on which I installed the Fitbit app last week. I went for a 5 mile run yesterday but my Fitbit App tracked the distance as only 3.85 miles. I ran the exact same 5 mile loop last week whilst i had my old mobile and whilst the GPS maps look identical on my Fitbit activities, the distances are quite a difference.

Same again today - I ran 3.2 miles but my App has me down as running just 2.59 miles.

Any ideas what the issue may be here?

@Iannnn Welcome! It's nice to have you on board!

Let me help you with your GPS distance being incorrect. Remember that your app uses your phone's GPS chip as the Charge 2 doesn't have one. Start by refreshing the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.
