Firmware update silent alarm issue

My Charge 3 went through a firmware update today (v20001.88.11) and now there isn’t an option to set a silent alarm. During the update it said that they would be deleted and I’d have to reset them but that option isn’t anywhere that I can find it now.

This is the absolute worse change that could have been made. Who wants to set an alarm on a 1 inch screen when previously you were setting the alarm on the screen on your phone?. Whoever at Fitbit recommended this change, should be fired.

I've just set multiple alarms, there's a + button when you set the alarm. But I can only set the alarms for tomorrow, unfortunately there's no option to repeat them..

Someone said the app had not been revised on their desktop computer. I pulled fixbit app up on my all-in-one and was able to reset all my timers. Time will tell if this worked!

Totally agree. It’s almost as if some yahoo said one day, “Let’s see what we can do to piss the most owners off”!

I know, let’s do away with the silent alarm function on the app and make everyone use a tiny screen. Yep, that should work.

It worked. Jeez!

I was able to add more than one alarm.  After setting up the first alarm, start over and go to Alarms and you'll see a plus (+) sign and you can add another alarm.

I tried setting alarms on my PC app (about 10 times today).... doesn't work!!!  I re-synced, and reset my watch, as well.  Doesn't work.  I have a hard enough time reading my watch, let alone, setting alarms.  I was able to set one up from my watch, but, it was cumbersome!!!  I had 4 alarms set up before, and will have to try to repeat on watch, with the same settings.  What a PITA!!  If Fitbit doesn't fix this, I may have to move to some other/brand device.

There is a way to set up the alarm to repeat, but it is very difficult to do. You have to keep swiping until you see repeat. It is very difficult to set.

@robbielou

When you set a new alarm in the watch, it has by default activated the "Smart Wake", where it actually wakes you up in a 30 min. window around your set time according to your sleep stages, that is why it woke you up before.

Swipe to your set alarm, click on it and scroll down until you see the "Smart Wake" setting. Click on it once to set it to Off.

Hope that helps 🙂

I really relied on my silent alarms. I dont use it it to wake up. I have hourly responsibilities with my job and I consider this function useful. when I get sidetracked. Please reinstate this function. I'm so disappointed with you Fitbit.☹

You can do it from your PC. I have Windows 10.

Make sure you turn off Bluetooth on your phone.

Next go to Settings Devices.

Unpair your Fitbit (remove)

Pair it again it should find the device.

Go into the Fitbit App on the PC and sync it.

Next Click on your picture go to alarms

Set your alarms then it should sync.

Next remember to turn Bluetooth on in phone. You should be good to go.

Hope this helps. I know it works for me.

Yes, it works but the trick is you need to unpair on the PC  then pair it again. This way it will sync using PC app.

How stupid, an update that removes a very useful function from my iphone app and forces me to do it on my fitbit 3.  I would not have updated if I knew this would happen.

Surely, Fitbit being customer focused will reinstate it.

I hope you are correct about Fitbit responding but so far it is dead silence, which would indicate they are hoping we get tired and go away.

Has anyone noticed that the alarm screen lettering is very dark and hard to see?

Tried adjusting the screen brightness from auto to normal, thinking it would be better, but it does not help. The add alarm plus symbol is bright but the lettering is dim.

As if this update isn't annoying enough.

Why would the lettering on that one screen be so poorly lit?

I'm on my 4th different Fitbit over the years and have always thought highly of the product.

Not anymore.

Can anyone suggest an alternate company with the silent alarm function and an interest in customer complaints?

They do not plan on revisiting this change anytime soon.

I agree! I can't read the fitbit that well to start with, even with reading glasses and now I can't set my multiple alarms easily anymore on the app. Fitbit needs to have over 40 people test their apps. They forget that Gen Xers use fitbits!

Heartily agree.

A senior citizen who has used Fitbit for YEARS. Might swap due to the alarm issue.
