Fitbit Charge 2 Popping Loose From Strap

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi! My Fitbit Charge 2 keeps coming loose from the strap.

I've tried tightening and loosening the screws, and I've also tried a new strap.

No matter what I do the fitbit will not stay secured to the wrist strap.

I can no longer wear my fitbit because it will not stay secured on a strap! Please help!!

I bought it in July 2017.

I have this same problem. I have been lucky the 8-9 times it has now happened in the last 2 weeks. But one of these times its going to fall off and be lost!

@Cara_K @lgleiser Welcome! It's great to see you around. You can try pulling the metal tab to the outside so it better secures the tracker. @Cara_K is the new wristband from Fitbit or from a third party vendor?

Let me know how it goes!

Hi

My Fitbit Charge 2 is fine with the original strap but when I bought a different strap from a third party vendor it just wouldn't stay secure so I sent the strap back.  I've worn mine constantly for over a year and it works well.

Hi! I've tried adjusting the tab and it still won't "catch" onto the fitbit.

The replacement band I got was branded from Fitbit - but I bought it in a local store.

@AndyLAS @Cara_K sorry for the delay in my response.

@AndyLAS happy to hear that you were able to return the third party wristband.

@Cara_K since your wristband is still giving you issues the best thing to do is explaining this to Support so they can assist you. You will get an email from them.

I have only had mine for a month and the original strap keeps popping off. I’m afraid I’m going to lose it. I found this forum looking for others experiencing the same thing. I love this upgrade fro lm the Alta but am afraid it is also going to fall off and get lost.

I’m having the same problem. My strap keeps popping off. I’ve had this strap for about a year now. Can you help at all?

I have had so many issues with this. The first strap broke at the connection and that was within a year of purchase, so luckily Fitbit replaced it. That has lasted about 7 months and the connection has broken again! They will not replace it. The actual monitor is good, but the strap connectors are crap. You can't wear it without a strap, so I'm guessing if I want to keep using it I'll have to keep buying replacement straps. The concept of changeable straps seems good, but the plastic material is useless. Metal clipping onto plastic just doesn't work, and I don't do any extreme sports that would cause it to break! Obviously, their building in obsolescence.

Hi, I bought my Fitbit inspire HR in May 2019. I bought a second band from Fitbit online in November 2019 but the strap keeps popping out. It seems that there is a space between the watch and the strap, therefor the strap does not click in. The strap comes off multiple times a day.

I have the same problem and am about to throw this Fitbit out the window.

Same problem here.  Very surprised that Fitbit would allow this to snowball on social media without some response.   Obviously won't be buying another one of these, and wouldn't recommend a Fitbit to anyone.

HI DMcNeil,
Thanks for your confirmation of my Fitbit strap problem. I ended up buying
a new strap from Amazon (link here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CWN23SD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
)
and am very happy w/ the way it just snapped onto the timepiece. So it
wasn't my operating error, it was the malfunctioning strap itself. I think
Fitbit should have put out some info saying it was possible some people
needed a replacement strap, not just repeating the same advice about making
sure you were snapping the strap until it clicked. I don't think Fitbit is
a very well-run company, and they are resting on their laurels from their
first product release.

Thanks for the Amazon lead.  I just ordered my replacement.  Hope it works better than what I have now!

I have same issue. Just chatted with a support agent, but he told me that since my fitbit is 1 year and 2 months, thus 2 months after warranty, I have to buy a new armband.

Very disappointed. I will take the opportunity and change to MiBand Xiaomi.

I am so sorry to hear that. I know how frustrating that can be. My personal
recommendation is to go ahead now and order a new strap; save yourself the
trouble b/c from my experience, when it pops off once, it will continue
happening. Cheers! and good luck to you.
