Fitbit Charge 2 Screen static/fuzzy

My husband connected his Fitbit to the charger yesterday and the screen turned white with lines/static/fuzzy all through it. When he it unhooked it several hours later it was in setup mode, although he couldn't do anything with it.  Now the screen is black when not on the charger.  He's worn this tracker daily for quite a while and never had an issue.  Did it just die?  Is there anything he can do?

Support said we'd exhausted all options and Charge 2 is dead.  It lasted a little more than two years.  They did send me a fairly generous discount to buy a new tracker, since the warranty is long expired.  We bought a new Versa.

So did your Fitbit die?

I think probably it did.  I spoke to support who had me clean the contacts and reconnect it to the charger, but now it's just black, no green light on the back, nothing happens at all.  I'll try cleaning again, but I'm not holding out any hope.

Thanks.  We cleaned the contacts and put it back on the charger.  It lightly vibrates when we attach it, but now the screen is totally dead.  We tried resetting it and it does lightly vibrate, but the screen stays black.

No, they just had me clean the contacts and try to charge it again.  It didn't work.  I guess I need to contact support again.

I dropped mine accidentally. It's not overcharge or something.
