Hello
I bought a Fitbit charge yesterday. After I unboxed it i found out that the display is permanently dim. First I thought i need to charge the battery, but after re charging the display stays dim and is very hard to read. I have tried to restart the Charge 2 but it won't chnage. display stays dim. Any idea whats wrong ?

@Markus1975 Welcome to our Community! This is odd, actually the screen is quite bright and the restart should have helped correcting this issue. I suggest you retry the restart but this time do it 3 times in a row by doing the following:
1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your Charge 2 will begin charging.
4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for four seconds. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.
If the issue persist you can either return it to the place you purchase it from for an exchange or contact our Support Team for further assistance.
Let me know how it goes!

I also tried the restart method, but did not help. It is so dim it is hard to even see anything. What an inconvenience to have to return this to the store I purhased it from. It's a 1/2 drive to the store.

Goodbye Fitbit.
I too have the dim issue and have tried multiple resets.
Don't even remember where I bought this particular one.

Tried it several times. No change. Was fine for months but now so dim I can no longer wear it as a way to see what time it is...and wearing a watch and a Charge 2 is more than want to do.

The same thing is happening with my charge 2. I cant see the display in the sun. Its very frustrating. Tried restarting it multiple times and nothing has happened. Im thinking of switching over to the apple watch.

Me too. Fine indoors but unless outdoors. Disappointing as my original Charge HR was fine.

Update: My charge HR 2 is officially done. The display is dead now. It still vibrates when you hold the button and the heart rate monitor is still on but I ant use it because of no display.

@Codyzhu @Jdldds Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community! Sorry to hear about your Charge 2 display not working.
@Codyzhu Since yours isn't working at all and you mentioned that you have already restarted it then the best thing to do is letting our Support team know about this issue. They will review your tracker's data and warranty and provide options accordingly. You will get an email from them.
@Jdldds The Charge 2 is a little bit difficult to read under direct sunlight (this has been my experience) but you could vote for the idea of increasing the display brightness on our Feature suggestions board. The more votes an idea gets the more likely the developers will try to implement it. If you believe that this is abnormally dim then please try restarting your tracker by following the instructions in my first post.

I had the same issue with my Charge 2. I discovered that selecting a new clock face in the iPhone app resolved the dim issue. I changed to a new face, synced the band, then changed back to the one I prefer and synched again. That seemed to reset and fix the issue for me. Back to full bright display.

I’m having the same issue with mine! I followed same instructions and had to cut lights out and only way I could tell was it still vibrates! As much as I paid for this thing I’m horribly upset because I literally got to use it maybe a month!

I can confirm that changing the clock face resolved the issue for my son's fitbit ace 2. I am glad I kept reading. Researched and fixed in under 5 minutes.
