Fitbit Charge 2 factory reset

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My brother gave me his fitbit charge 2 and I am trying to connect it to my fitbit app but it won't connect. So I tried to do a factory reset as the fitbit page suggests (hold the button, unplug the charger, hold it for another 8 seconds...) but it just doesn't work! He already removed the fitbit from his app.

Ist there anything else I can do?

@Basilikum Thanks for stopping by!

Let me help you with this and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. The Charge 2 doesn't have a factory reset process but that doesn't mean you can't set it up. I suggest you clear the link between your phone and your tracker and retry the setup by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.
