Fitbit Charge 3 - Screen Not Working

Hi Everyone,

Ive had my Fitbit Charge 3 for nearly a week now and was working fine up until last night.

When I woke up this morning the screen was not working and it wasn’t syncing with the app.

One the back of the device, there is a green and red light constantly flashing.

Ive tried pressing the side buttons and I have tried putting it on charge but neither are working.

Does anyone one have any tips on what to do?

Thanks

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Alexander1959@Wendi1974, and @SunsetRunner! Thanks for already trying to restart your devices. If your Charge 3 is still syncing, please change the clock face to a different one. Let me know if this suggestion works for you.

Thanks for helping out guys @Sli1106 and @JohnSuperStar

You have to put it on the charger and then hold the side button for at least 10 seconds until you see the smiley face.

I have also had customer service replace my Fitbit Charge 3. So this is my 2nd one which is why it is annoying that this keeps happening. I hope they improve their product!

My screen went blank. Squeeze the side button for 10seconds.

That is the first of hearing that one. Usually people get nothing or a smiley face.

I had this issue since yesterday and did not notice that my Fitbit display has gone dark until I saw an email about low battery. I charged my fitbit charge 3 and tried to sync using the app. It worked great but no display. If you have been able to get the exact same issue then its related to firmware update. I tried the solution suggested by 'kenical' and got it fixed.

Solution: Open the Fitbit settings on browser or mobile app and change the display (face) type. It will install a new display and bring the Fitbit to life. You can than revert to your preferred display within the app. No more short or long press for 8 or 80 seconds. Happy Fitness tracking!!

Welcome to the Community Forums @Bengazie! Thanks restarting your Charge 3 in order to solve the issue with the blank screen.

Since the restart hasn't worked, I'd recommend what my friend @therock316 advised. You can find the steps in the help article: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?. Give this a go and us know if this works for you too.

Hello there @Alexander1959! Thanks for trying all the suggestions provided here to fix your Charge 3's display.

I was about to create a support case on your behalf, but I've seen you contacted our Support Team after posting here. I'm glad to hear they were able to help.

Let me know if there's anything else I may do for you in the meantime. I'll be around!

my screen was flipping aback and forth from an apparent notification and just kept doing that, i plugged it into the charging cable and then the screen went dark, and now nothing, i have tried the restart but nothing, the button on the side does not seem to be responding,  so what could be the problem and how do i fix it

I would put it on the charger again and hold the watch button for a count of 10. If that doesn’t work I’d go to your app and follow the instructions for restart. If that doesn’t work I’d call customer service and ask for a new watch. Before they do that I think they will want to help reboot the watch. If they can’t I’m sure they will give you a new watch.
