I've had no problems pairing my Charge 4 with other phones. I just purchased a Pixel 6 android phone but can't get it to pair with my fitbit 4. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi @djfro , Nice to see you here. Thank you for your message and information.

Please make sure that your previous phone has the bluetooth off.

On the Pixel 6 make sure to have the latest Fitbit app installed

Please follow these steps, some of which you have already done, but the order is important:

  • Restart your Charge 4.
  • Please on the mobile phone, go to Settings> Bluetooth, and remove all connections that are there with the tracker. (Forget, ignore or unpair the device depending on the version of the mobile phone's operating system)
  • Turn off the bluetooth and restart your phone. (switch off and on again).
  • When the phone is back on, turn the bluetooth on again, but DO NOT try to connect to the tracker from here.
  • Go to the app. From here, try setting up the tracker as a new device.

See you around.

I cannot sync my MacBook Pro with my Charge 4. The tracker is three or four years old. For about 2 years synching worked, but it has not worked since. Please help.

Unbelievable that one has to delete a Bluetooth pairing frequently & go through the whole process again sometimes daily.
Bluetooth is normally the easiest connection possible but somehow Fitbit Charge 4 can’t cope.
Worst & last Fitbit I will ever own.

Yes, well I tried that, too. My new 'Charge 4 tracker', replacing the other one because the strap buckle broke off - what an expensive way to overcome a simple problem! Throw the Boeing 777 away because the door latch broke: American economy - will not pair with my computer. I have spent 12 solid hours without a break attempting to pair it with my computer but my newly acquired Fitbit Charge 4 will not identify itself to my computer by means the Bluetooth process.

I tried again for five hours, today. No success.

Yes, other devices - my mouse, my large screen - do, but Fitbit Charge 4 is invisible. Some of the time, I was assisted with Chat, but "Sorry, we can't help you with that!" The 'office' tells me that they can read everything, but I can't see it. Nothing is added since

Has anyone met this problem? Are/is there a solution or more?

Thanks for the post, sadly, did not work for me.  Prior to following above steps, I'd reinstalled the app a few times, rebooted the Pixel, still having issues.  On the Fitbit app notification menu page, I did notice when I open it, calls is turned on.  When I click on texts, calendars or emails, as the page open the "on" slider moves to ON.  Is this normal operation?  Do you have any other suggestions I can try?  Note:. Although app says it can't sync, info from the tracker is moving to the app, however, info from the phone is not getting pushed to the tracker.  Thanks for the help!!

It seems to be an issue in syncing the charge 4 this morning. I had a few issues and theres another thread saying that they've had problems. Its likely nit your fitbit or phone but an issue in syncing.

No solutions I have found, it seems Fitbit has stopped supporting the Charge 4. They want all the sheep to buy a new, updated version.

What a joke. I find it funny that when someone's Charge 4 miraculously starts working again, their post gets the "Best Answer" badge.

Yeah, in a perfect world, which this isn't. My Charge 4 stopped syncing with my phone and laptop, and is no longer discoverable.

I have plenty of earbuds, headphones and TVs that have no problem pairing, and never have. Only the Fitbit Charge 4 is a constant problem.

I'm going to give the guy who smashed his with a hammer my "Best Answer" badge. Well done!

Same here. Stopped pairing 3 days ago. Tried everything…

I was told today by Fitbit support that is because I'm running Android 9 on my phone.

Fitbit apps will now only work with Android 10, 11 or 12. Not an option on my phone apparently,

because my phone stopped updating Android past v. 9.

Sad, but true. Good luck!

After about a week of not being able to pair my Fitbit again, I finally got it. I factory reset my phone and when I tried to pair it again it would get to the part where it asks for the 4 digit code. I put in the code and then it would just sit forever and say it was taking too long and couldn't pair. Meanwhile the Fitbit device would show tue Fitbit logo and say to download or update the app.

I tried turning my Bluetooth on/off on my phone. I tried uninstalling the app, restarting my phone, then reinstalling. Not thing helped.

Finally it hite that I would try to reset the Fitbit. That did the trick.  button, swipe left for SETTINGS, swipe up to ABOUT, swipe up to CLEAR USER DATA.

If this doesn't help, you may want to try the REBOOT DEVICE option

I tried your suggestion. It got the Pixel to see the Fbit, but it still won't pair. I've only been able to pair it 2x in months and months.

Help?

Clearing user data did it for me after trying the 1st set of steps. Unfortunately, I lost a whole month of data. I thought it had been syncing after getting my new Pixel 6 as it was still showing on the app after that and it was also seen in Bluetooth settings after my Pixel setup. Pixel 6 is updated to Android 13 for future readers. Symptoms were that I could get all the way to pairing in app, but after punching in the 4-digit code it would hang.

I’ve done ALL those things several times to no avail. Not impressed

Yep. Not my first Fitbit - but may be my last

Same here. Just upgraded my Samsung Z-Flip 3 to Android 13 and everything went to hell. Reinstalled the app. Cleared data. Cleared cache. Nothing works. Watch won't pair. I get to the "found it" screen on the setup page and then it hangs.

Will be replacing this with a Samsung product. Ridiculous.

Exactly the same here with my Samsung Flip 4 - won't sync to my Fitbit after latest Android 13 update. So annoyed.
