so My fitbit Charge 2 screen failed several weeks ago. But that's probably not related to this bug. In any case I put it away for now, pondering the replacement options.
In the mean time, I forgot to unpair my Charge 2. Anyway, on July 9 and 13 the app registered 134217728 steps on both days, after I put my Charge 2. A quick Google search found out that it is possibly related to "Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted" - something related to PHP tokens.
Thus it is probably something related to the app itself. I use Android app.

@SYSSMouse Thanks for stopping by!
Let me help you with your high amount of steps showing on your Charge 2. Do you have any third party app linked to your account? Have you manually logged any activities? Please note that your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example, this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen while driving. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. You can try wearing your device on your non-dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on the device’s settings to make it less sensitive to movement.
Let me know how it goes.

Does not work. Since it is possibly related to PHP token, it is possibly a software bug.
