I am setting up my first Fitbit (Charge 3) tonight, so please excuse if this is a basic question.
I live in Australia, where we use the metric system, so I want to change the energy units from Calories to kJ. I used the Android phone app Account > Advanced Settings > Units to change to Kilojoules. This has changed it on the phone, but the watch and the fitbit.com dashboard both still show Calories.
How can I force the watch (at least) to show kJ?

It's great to see you here, @Greg_N.
I appreciate the steps you followed in order to change your units. Are you making sure that your tracker is syncing properly in order to save the changes? In the meantime, you can follow the instructions in the article: How do I change the units of measurement on my Fitbit device?.
Let me know the outcome. 🙂

How do I make the FITBIT on my wrist show Kilojoules not calories??
Please reply and help.
I managed to change to kilojoules on the phone app (can't re-find it).
But even though that's still ok, the actual watch/Charge 3 is still showing calories
(and so is the dashboard, food log, etc online on computer too).

This is exactly my experience and it is quite frustrating! Did you end up getting any further help?

That's annoying. I'm using the Lose It app to help with a work around but it is clunky since I will not synch to Fitbit because there is a cost involved. Fingers crossed that this is addressed in a firmware update

Hi again. i found the answer to this and hope it helps.
Go into your profile, scroll down to advanced setting, under that scroll down to units, then tap on energy and select kilojoules.
It worked on my Charge 3 yesterday and has retrospectively changed past calories to kjs.
Good luck!

Hello, DrJillster.
That is not a solution, I'm afraid - what you describe is exactly what I did in my original message. This changed the units on the phone App only, but the watch and the fitbit.com dashboard both still show Calories.
