How do I delete old notifications?

Everyday I get notifications telling me that either I need a certain amount of steps to reach my goal, or that I'm an over achiever with so many steps above my daily goal.  That's great, however I now have 198 notifications showing.  How can I delete all these older ones?  Thanks!

Thank you!  I kinda figured I wouldn't be able to fix it so I stopped all notifications.  At least I will not get any more.  Thinking about a new fitness tracker, another brand, because this annoys me so much.

Hi..   I have 3 notifications that are 6 months to a year old and they won't go away.  How do I delete them?  I have reset my Charge 3 and still no luck.

Hi! There is no way to delete notifications. I have 43 from 2018. They are supposed to cycle off after 30 days. They do not do that. Some do eventually disappear but apparently for no specific reason. Mine are from May through June of 2018; nothing recent.
This discussion has been requesting help for about a year. The responses we get don’t help. The simple addition of a delete button would solve the problem; even better would be the option to select notification items to be deleted. Fitbit does not seem to care about customers concerns. If you discover a solution, post it here because lots of Charge users will be thrilled to hear a real solution.

So today I logged into Fitbit. I’ve posted on here several times about this horrific issue that’s so stupid where you can’t delete notifications and messages. Notifications were the same. But I about flipped out when I saw that there is an arrow on the messages now and if you hold down on the message for a second or two it actually gives you the option to delete. I absolutely flipped out! I mean, this Hass to be too good to be true, right? Well I was right , too good to be true.  So messages you can now delete individually, but only one at a time. And get this, are you ready for this? You can delete the message, but the name  still shows up in the message box with no conversation! You cannot get rid of the name of the person who sent the message. AND even with all messages deleted, if only one message was in inbox, by that person, the message shows where name is displayed. Even though it’s deleted!!  😡😡😡 mind boggling, the stupidity and ineptitude of these ppl!!!

This is bad, but what is even worse is that Fitbit can’t add up its own sleep statistics.  The graphs of times asleep and restless virtually never agree with the summary statistics of these same variables.  Therefore, the actual hours asleep are just about always wrong.  It’s one thing to track sleep inaccurately, it’s hard and some errors will occur, but it’s something much worse to not be able to even added up your own data correctly.

That's ridiculous. I don't understand why the techs cant figure out how to
put a delete option on here. Mine are now almost 2 years old.

I have messages that have been there for Over A Year even though I keep seeing that they drop off after 30 days !  I've tried everything I've seen on the forums including signing out then back in and these OLD messages that I want Gone are still here...  Does Fitbit REALLY Have No Way To Delete These ?????

Evidently, not only do they not have a way to delete them, they really don’t care to try and fix the problem. Users have been complaining about this for at least a year and nothing has been done. Many of the features that I used and liked have been lost or don’t work well any more. (1) the sleep feature has me going to sleep at 2 pm and getting up at 9 pm or only sleeping a couple of hours when it’s been six or seven. (2) the heart rate report in the Track feature for daily exercise worked well for about 18 months and then disappeared. (3) as you have found, the notifications cannot be removed nor does their claim of removal after 30 days work. (4) amounts entered for water consumption disappear or will not appear when you add them. (5) recently when I use the track feature, it creates the map showing my walk and duration but indicates that there is not enough data or does not give number of steps, etc.

Many of the recent problems started after the Premium option was added. I am assuming they want you to now pay for the features for which I originally purchased the watch.

I loved my Charge 2 but now I tolerate it until I can find and afford a better instrument.

And by a year, you mean, at least 3 or 4 years...? At least... just saying...

@Glaciertrekk  @Bobmarybart  @Joe_Cool_56  @Mjford1   I am an iOS user.  I discovered that I could delete these old Messages and Notifications by doing a left swipe.  All of a sudden, I found a Delete option.  All gone!

Omg. I am an android user. If I swipe to notifications I have messages
going back 2 years. Since I read your message I went back to it. I have to
touch the green circle in front of the message for a few seconds and the
word delete pops up.Then I can delete. I have tried this before and it
didnt work. Now it does. Thank you.

It worked? I have an older Samsung phone I didn't swipe but pushed and held
each message until the the delete option appeared at the bottom. Pressed it
and they are gone, more than 2 years of notifications. Can't thank you
enough!

You are right. That works. I have tried that for almost 3 years and had given up that anything would ever be done. Thank you for sharing.

Seems Fitbit has suddenly fixed the problem. On the iPhone a swipe to the left provides a delete option. Only took them about 3 years. Wonder why they didn’t share that information with users. Thanks for sharing the Android solution. Good thing this email was revived and nice people like you shared the news with those of us who had given up hope.

I imagine it is pretty embarrassing for them! But, wow, the holy grail!

I swiped left 20 times and only once got a delete and maybe it deleted one
notification -- I have too many to be able to tell. But I keep swiping
left and nothing happens. Do you have a place on the screen that somehow
triggers the delete when you swipe left. I'm getting nothing.

One at a time?? No way to delete the hundreds in one go?

Best Answer
I started with the last one because it was easier to my progress. I just place my thumb on the right side of the notification and swiped all the way across to the left and the notification disappears. I am using a Charge 2. Hope this helps.

I have not found a way to delete more than one at a time. I’m so glad to be able to delete them I didn’t look too hard for a better way. I’m surprised that Fitbit finally deigned to make this relatively simple change. They could have done this after the first complaints surfaced.

I works for two of my hundreds and then nothing again. At this rate maybe
I'll be rid of them in months. But thank you for something to try.
