How do I track horse riding with my Charge 2?

I don’t run or cycle as I have Achilles tendinopathy. I mainly walk which is being tracked using my Fitbit charge 2 in steps or auto recognised as a ‘walk’. I swim which I log as activity as I don’t wear it while swimming BUT I also horse ride.

Today I rode quite actively, heart rate was in cardio mode but my Fitbit tracked all the exercise as steps and a ‘walk’. I could add horse riding in as a manual entry but I don’t want to ‘double dip’ ie get steps and activity!!!

i have only had my Charge 2 since Xmas and haven’t really grasped the activity logging yet. Any horse riding Fitbit experts can help me?

thanks

Thanks for the response. I have a group I do weekly and weekend step challenges with and I’d hate to cheat by counting my mare’s steps. I guess I’ll keep removing my Fitbit for my rides.

I am a horseback rider too and I have been for many years. How do you record my rides?! I have been struggling with this.

I wear my Fitbit while grooming and tacking up so I can get credit for those steps, then I leave my Fitbit in my tack box just before leaving the barn with my horse. I put it on again as soon as I have my horse on the cross ties. I log the exercise manually on the app my touching “exercise”, then the stopwatch in the upper right corner, then entering horseback riding and the start/stop times. It’s important to get these right so you don’t lose any of the steps you’ve taken before and after the ride.
