How to reset my stride?

I am 5'4" that is all my fitbit knows about my stride, I think.  My steps to the mile I walked is not correct.

I know the rout for 2 miles exact but on my fitbit shows much shorter mileage.  How to correct step vs miles? Currently 4,245 steps/one mile.  Should be around 3800' steps per mile.  Yes, my stride is long as my husband who is 6'.I appreciate your help!

Thank you.  Simple, short and it worked!  No need for a long complicated version.  I did the stride measurements using this method:

Measuring 20 feet; walking for the 20 feet, and dividing 20 by the number of steps (10).

For jogging; I divided 20 feet by 8 steps.

How do I figure my "stride" from these measurements?  Someone said I was supposed to measure from the toe of my back foot to the heel of my front foot.  None of these make sense to me...and I'm probably showing my mathmatical ignorance!

Thanks for any help.  Butterstories

To enter your own stride, go into the Fitbit App, select the account menu(one that looks like a rectangle with a square inside), scroll down to advanced settings, select it, and at the bottom there is a "stride length" box.

Hope I didn't sound too blunt!

How do I measure and adjust stride length for my Fitbit device?

Thank you Butterstories, it worked!!  I used the front foot toe to back foot toe.  It was 26.5 for 5'4" female but actuality, my stride is 33.5 BIG difference.
