I had a terrible time trying to get my brand new Charge 3 to start working. It kept scrolling the www.fitbit.com/setup message and wouldn't respond to anything else, including trying to turn the thing off completely. So I called customer service and it turns out that setting it up through a computer is basically not doable. It has to be done through a smart phone because there are so many updates that have to be downloaded (and apparently the software in most computers can't read the updates.) She walked me through each step and I got it solved at last. Customer Service is open from 4am PST to 9pm PST, so don't make yourself crazy--just call them. I waited about 4 minutes for a rep.
