I asked about the latest version, and link pointed me to "What's changed in the latest Fitbit device update?"

The latest Fitbit app version (released 24.04.2020) is 3.19.2 for Android (IOS uses the same version number also).

In the Swedish Appstore, the latest version is 3.20

A lot of users have rapported difficulties after installing the latest update. I hesitate if I should update or not

You were actually asking for the latest firmware version it seems. Only the last 4 digits matters - so the latest (official) firmware update for Charge 3 is 1.84.5.

So "my version is:

28.20001.63.5

is this the latest?" is not the latest. You're on 1.63.5 which was the prior firmware update.

my Charge 3 still sits on 28.20001.63.5 and it doesn't pick up newer version 1.84.5.

Is there a way of forcing an update?

Hi @monik_frostie  you can't force the firmware update as you would a sync. These roll out in batches, so it will get to you, but when it does, it will notify you that it's available.
