I found a way around this error.

I entered my address as accurately as possibly in the other fields. For the postcode field I entered only the numbers from my postcode, 3 characters this was.

This allowed me to hit proceed and following that the site gave a prompt with a suggestion for my address as it should be with the correct postcode! I could then confirm and file the claim.

hope this helps

Just in case anyone runs into this like I did, here is how I got it working:

I was trying to enter my postcode "11854" and the system was not accepting it, it was saying that the field is required (even if I had entered it!)
Adding a space fixed it. I entered "118 54" and the system accepted it and I was able to complete my order.

For Dutch postal codes: 1234 AB (letters need to be in caps and there needs to be a space between the numbers and letters)

THIS is just really bad coding.  Get it right. Not every country uses spaces in their postal codes.

If I enter a country and a "state" the form of the postal cod just could not matter at al.
