Mileage for GPS-connected runs not accurate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

For the last 18 months, I haven't been recording my runs manually from my Fitbit Charge 2 as it would always stop recording somewhere in the middle.  At some point they must have fixed this, as I've now done two runs that do not automatically stop recording for no reason.  That's great.

However, now the mileage being shown is incorrect.  I believe it's correctly connected to my phone during my run, as I do see the "map" of my run on my app after it's complete.  But my 3.7mi run has recorded as 2.6 miles and 2.4 miles.   Any ideas how to correct?

@ronakshah2000 Welcome to the Community.

Let me help you with your Charge 2 GPS distance not being accurate. Really happy to hear that your exercises aren't being interrupted anymore. Lets try refreshing the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.
