My Charge 3 shows a line on screen

Due to my Fitbit charge 2 not charging at all (put down to age)  I bought a new charge 3 on Sunday 31st May. It has a black line across the screen near the top. I found a thread mentioning this issue and I have tried to resolve using the tips on there but to no avail. Please advise??
