since last month my Fitbit charge 2 doesn't synchonise properly with my iPhone. the tracker is 2,5 years old. what to do?

My Charge 2 hasn't synced with the Fitbit app on my iPhone 8 since the phone did the iOS 13.4.1 update on Sunday afternoon. Co-incidence? And any ideas what to do?

Apologies for not providing an answer, but wanted to note that this has been a long standing issue with the charge 2. I've noticed I rarely even use my fitbit app bc it never syncs so when I need to use or look at it, it is tied up for like five to ten minutes trying to sync several days, weeks or months of data. It's ridiculous and has only gotten worse with time, which I'm sure will decline further with the release of the 4. I hate the charging mechanism and refuse to upgrade until they fix it to a sensible system that works consistently, long-term, so I'm stuck.
