It worked fine last night, but when I woke up this morning it was a black screen. I bought this from you in December 2016, and don't have the paperwork anymore. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Mine did the same at same time so I think it is the update and they do it on purpose and it ki,,s our Fitbit right after they go out of warrantybjjst so they can offer us a discount to buy a new one! They know what they are doing but I'm not gonna spend any more money on another device with a company that doesn't care. They eventually will go broke and Apple or a company that cares will buy them out! Yaw need to reverse the update and give us back our fitbits!!!!

Unforetunately.....I bought a fitbit charge2 for a friend just over a year ago. He didntd wear it often as he had trouble fastening the band. I recently found an expansion band and hes been wearing it more often. He frequently has trouble getting it to charge but we finally got it to charge a couple days ago and since then it wont turn on?/the screen is dark. Customer service told me to clean the contacts and when that didnt work they offered a 25% discount on a replacement. I have worn out a Charge HR and now have a Charge 2 that I wear it ALL the time so it does get some abuse and ive never had any issues. Id be surprised if his tracker has 50,000 steps on it and so I question whether I should replalce it even if has a new band.

Haha. I've got the exact problem just when the warranty expired!and the idiot's at the support centre wished me all the best and hoped I would purchase a new Fitbit product! Not a **ahem** I would ever do so nor reccomend fitbit to anyone out there. Waste of money and utter piece of garbage. Not too sure why people out there are so gullible to purchase a product where even support are as useless as their product!

My charge 2 just went blank screen. It still vibrates and charges but that's it. Called for help after restarting 5 times to no avail. When I purchased it I even bought the 1yr warranty. Support center tried to help me by resetting it again. They sent me a coupon for 25% off my next purchase. All I can say is GOODBYE FITBIT.

Hello, my Charge 2 has also given up its soul, just yesterday I got the black screen. It is 2 years and 5 months old, got it in Dec 2016. It had been acting up a bit, like having to twist wrist a few times to get it to light up and the battery was not lasting more than 4 days. After charging it yesterday the screen never came back up. I also have the green lights showing at the back and I tried all the recommended fixes. Nothing. I checked the app and realized there were no updates since the 7th May while Bluetooth is always on. So, it was to come. I have worn it everyday all this time and really loved it so it will be tough without it but I am not sure whether I will get the new Charge 3 at this point. My daughter has it and it looks amazing and can swim with it, but will it suffer the same fate and live such a short life?
I am now wearing my TomTom sports. Very disappointed though, I would expect such a device to last at least 5 years, especially considering the many cheaper alternatives out there. Not sure what the Fitbit marketing ideal is but it's not going to gain long-term customers with this short-lived devices.

Yeah it is disappointing to have a product that can't even be repaired!
On a separate note, I did get a garmin vivosmart 4, very crappy device.
But still wont go back to fitbit due to their warranty period & lack of afterservice

Hello and help.
My Charge 2 screen went black today with no hint at all.
I've tried the advice about reset on this thread. No change.
I've had it since Feb 2017 without any issues.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I have the same problem - called Fitbit and went through all the steps - nothing- then they offered me a 25% discount- terrible customer service - I was so disappointed- on the end of the conversation - basically told me I should buy an Apple product - we have 4 fitbits - I just can't get over the conversation and how rude and unhelpful- I will never buy another Fitbit brand.

I am experiencing the same issue with my Charge 2, the screen just went black but the green lights are still on. When I sych the tracker with my phone it does show stats. So basically the screen has serious issues.
I contacted fitbit support and got same plane answer that I don't have the warranty anymore so they can't do anything. But they also don't tell me WHY their device broke?? I am also now moving to Apple watch after being loyal to fitbit for 7+ years. Their quality is very poor now.

So.. Basically if you follow the instructions on how to clean the back of the Charge 2, plug in, ungplug, press buttons, etc and it doesn't work so you call Fitbit support, you get nowhere? WOW - What a racket
