Received my replacement Charge 2

I just received my replacement Charge 2 (cracked screen) and I'm charging it now.  I'm going to assume (dangerous) that I have to "Remove This Charge 2" from my iPhone app before proceeding to attempt to add my replacement Charge 2 to my iPhone app.  I say attempt because the replacement comes without instructions,, other than 'www.fitbit.com/setup' flowing across the screen.

My primary concern is, once I remove my old Charge 2, is it just a matter of syncing my replacement Charge 2?  When I sync it, will my 10 months of old data be associated with my new Charge 2?  I'd like to be able to access the old daily data with the new device!

**** I always like to ask questions before I make changes!  That being said, I went ahead and followed the steps outlined after I started the setup process.  It's all good!  The actual process took a little bit more than 5 minutes!  My concern was the data retention.  After the process completed, I verified that all was as it was! ****

Easy process!

It would have been nice if replacement instructions came with the replacement.

Oops.  I answered before reading your last paragraph carefully.

Glad to see you got it all resolved without problems.

Your data is with your email/account, not your tracker, so as long as you log into the same account for new tracker, all your data will still be there.  When you go to add a tracker, it asks which device.  When you answer Charge 2, it should say 'you already have one attached. Is this a replacement?'  Answer yes and it takes care of removing the old one for you.

On the other hand if you had already removed the old Charge 2, it would bypass that question about being a replacement device and set up just like from scratch.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
