Reminder to Move was taken away! Charge HR

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got a Fitbit Charge HR about 3 weeks ago. And when I set it up I had the option to have reminder to move alarms when I did not meet my hourly goal.  I first opted to turn this off because I did not think I wanted it. I decided I did want the reminders to help keep me moving, and when back to my dashboard to turn it on. I followed the instructions to get there:

FITBIT.COM DASHBOARD
  1. On the fitbit.com dashboard, tap the gear icon in the top right corner.
  2. Click Settings > Devices and then click your tracker.
  3. Under Reminders to Move, find an option to turn off your Reminders to Move notifications.

And the "Reminders to Move" is no longer there! I contacted the chat help and was told:

Nica (9/15/2016, 7:46:15 AM): However, the reminders to move feature is available for Fitbit Alta, Fitbit Blaze, Fitbit Charge 2, and Fitbit Flex 2.
Me (9/15/2016, 7:46:33 AM): I had it on mine! I know it asked me when I set up my Fitbit!
Nica (9/15/2016, 7:47:25 AM): However, it is only available for the 4 trackers above.
Me (9/15/2016, 7:47:34 AM): Was it taken away recently?
Nica (9/15/2016, 7:49:49 AM): Would it be okay if I discuss this case with my higher colleague and team so they can review your other options?
Me (9/15/2016, 7:50:00 AM): Can you please answer my question above?
Nica (9/15/2016, 7:51:07 AM): It seems odd. It is not available for Charge HR that's why I'm not sure why it appears in your Fitbit app.
Me (9/15/2016, 7:51:52 AM): Yes I would like this resolved. it is very frustrating to me that I had the opportunity to have this at one point, and now it is gone.
Nica (9/15/2016, 7:52:58 AM): I apologize for the inconvenience this might caused you Stevi.
Nica (9/15/2016, 7:53:23 AM): In this case, I'll be sending you a follow up email after I review this with my team.
Me (9/15/2016, 7:53:33 AM): ok thank you. have a good day.

What happened to it? I am very disappointed that I had this option and now it is taken away.  Please bring this back!  Has anyone else had this same experience of once having the option on the Charge HR and it is now gone?

I have had my charge hr for several years and it did have the feature to set reminders.  I had mine set to remind me to get away from my desk every 20 minutes.  but it drove me nuts because I was too stubborn to actually act on it and was so focused on my work that I found it difficult to tear myself away.  so.....I turned it off.  now I decided to turn on this reminder to move feature and it is gone!

ticks me off!  not going to go out and buy a new one just to have this back.  getting as bad as apple!  gotta come up with a reason to force you to buy a replacement so they start messing with the features on the old ones till you either give up or cough up. Grrrr.

sorry, but it did have this reminder to move feature.  I bought mine in June of 2015 and had mine set up to buzz me every 20 minutes.  drove me buggy cuz I was so wrapped up in my work, that I refused to heed the reminders.  I ended up turning it off.  just recently decided to give it another go but found that this feature had been removed from the settings for HR.

Reminder to move never vibrated every 20 minutes. But only went off at ten minutes before the hour if 250 not been walked this hour. If the user wqlkedw250 or more steps. the reminder does not go off .

Before I had the HR I had a similar product called Veryfit. It did almost all the same things. The few extra HR features like reminder to move were one of the reasons I upgraded. Does anyone know what reason the company gave for taking this feature away. It was one of my favorite features about the product.  If this is how they treat their customers I will not be buying the next model. I will buy a competitors for 1/3 the price

FWIW... I just got a hand-me-down Charge HR a couple weeks ago, and I had the exact same thing happen.  It asked me if I wanted "Reminders to Move" when I first installed the app, then that option was gone forevermore.

Which of the 4 possible types of devices is the app on! Or what type of phone or computer. It should also be a soluble under your device settings at https://www.fitbit.com/settings/device

@Unhappymom let's go to Fitbit's help docs.

What is a reminder to move?

Set reminders to reduce your stationary time and meet an hourly activity goal.

I had it on mine as well when I bought it over two years ago.  I remember setting it up.  I noticed about a year ago that I wasn't getting the messages, and thought I'd somehow turned it off.  Now I find out that it's just been taken away.  I do not want to buy another FitBit just to get the reminder.  Seriously, why have it check heart rate but not remind you to get up and move?

@MzMeli  Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for taking the time to share the experience you have had with the reminders to move/hourly activity goals.

Just to be clear, this feature is not available on Fitbit Charge HR. The topic of this thread is about reminders to move on Charge HR.

However, I believe you have a different tracker, correct? You may have a Charge 2?

If you do, reminders to move should be available on yours. Please feel free to check if they are set up. Check this article for more details on this. Also, perform a restart on your tracker. That should certainly help you out with this.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

Thanks but no. I don’t usually chime in on these communities and thought I was responding to two different posts. I’m done adding my thoughts.
