Fitbit should seriously think of having a Repair center for products.

My Charge HR has just gone over 365 days before the strap started bulging and finally the sensor does not work at all.

As it is out of warranty even though I want to pay for repir it cannot be done so have to decide.

Do i go for another charge and possibly be in same position year down the line or swap for another product or make

Thanks for sharing your experience on the matter. Sorry for the issues with your Fitbit tracker. My question is: if Fitbit is, as you said, "always trying to provide great products and customer experience" why then, isn't the new model (improved?) (Charge 3) able to be ordered using the discount which is being offered? Thank You.

Hi there guys, good to see you in the Forums! 🙂

@Susan-Walton, I'd like to help you out and sorry to hear that you've not been able to set up your tracker. What exactly is going on? If you could please provide me with as much detail as possible, I will appreciate it a lot!

@esherdan currently, discount is offered only on selected products. This doesn't mean that the Charge 3 will never be an option, it is just not one as of right now.

If you guys have more questions, I'll be happy to help you out!

Hello Ferdinand
Thank you for your kind reply

My problem is I set up the Fitbit ionic when I first bought it, everything was fine until, it began to lose time I searched for answers and tried resetting it, to no avail. I decided to reset the ionic and go back to factory settings. I could not set it back up as there is nothing on the screen only the Fitbit sign. Tried and tried nothing, eventually I gave up.

Hi I’m using a 3 year old Surge.

seems the battery can’t hold the charge and needs constant charging every hour !

can the battery be replaced at an ordinary watch repair shop?

@Susan-Walton I'm sorry about the delay in getting back with you. Thanks for replying back!

Are you still having problems setting up your Ionic? If so, the first thing I can suggest is making sure that you're using a mobile device that is compatible. If you're not sure whether your phone is compatible or not, you can check the list here.

If your phone is compatible and you're still having problems, let me know what is going on now and I'll be happy to help you out!

Welcome to the Forums @SzeTho! 🙂

Unfortunately, we don't have a repair center and batteries on Fitbit trackers are not repaceable. Since the Surge must be out of warranty by now, I can escalate your case to our Support Team for them to provide any other available solution. Is this something you'd like me to do?

I'll be looking forward for your reply!

I agree, and you can't buy replacement bands that fit the sensor. I'm looking at replacing my Charge with a garmin watch. Fitbit has not offered me enough to replace a product that has broken twice with another one of their products. Don't know if I can trust their durability enough to invest money in their products.

I have the same problem with my Fitbit Blaze. I was using it for 1 year and 2 months and it is not charging. I called the customer care and followed their instructions which did not resolve the problems. My friend had the same issue.

Looks like Fitbit trackers may not last for more than 1 year

Same issue.  They offered me a 25% discount on any product EXCEPT the one that's comparable to the one that busted.  (I had the Charge 2, can't use the discount on the Charge 3).  Same hesitation in reinvesting in a company that can only guarantee it's product for 1 year.

Well, this is disappointing. 'Repair Center' search comes up as "solved" but there's obviously nothing solved here as to what people need to do to compensate (at their own expense) in the given situation that their Fitbit device is beyond or out of warranty:

  1. Buy a new device - get a discount based on whether or not you purchased your device from an authorized retailer. This is a separate infuriating topic with which most here are familiar with I sense.
  2. Buy a new device from an authorized retailer and pay EXTRA MONEY for an extended warranty that's not even Fitbit's.
  3. Get it repaired somewhere, which, according to this solved forum subject, simply does not exist.

Reading through here, I see repeated moderator apology entries with no real solutions that involve Fitbit standing by their products and being more accommodating to their customers. Extending the warranty period would go a long way. If the faith in the product is as lofty as advertised, then what's the problem?

I have an Ionic, which was perfect, that I can not get a warranty replacement for because I bought from a retailer not in their list and now I understand that there's no hope of repair - officially sanctioned or not. The only choice I have is purchase another. I can almost begrudgingly accept the authorized retailer bit and just bite the bullet because I liked the Ionic so much but this here puts the nail in the Fitbit coffin for me. You guys need to do better!!!

All of the Fitbit products are garbage. Accurate when they work but they break in less then a year. I had 3 fit bits and they all broke on less then a year Fitbit also refused to replace the replacement one they sent less then a year prior. Their records are not accurate when it comes to purchase dates so pretty much your warranty will most likely be conveniently expired. I think that most people don’t know how worthless fibits are. I will never buy another one and I will urge as many people as I can not to waste their money.

Seems to be a similar situation as I am in. Heard the same from many
friends as well. May be we should start a Facebook community so that we can
track the numbers that are going through the same pain.

Fitbit is hopeless in addressing the needs of their customers. I have given up giving opinions. I have changed to Garmin and am happy with it.

I agree. I had the Fitbit ionic also. I had it replaced when it broke. Both ionic fitbits only lasted about 7-8months. They refused to fix and or replace mines for a third time. The warranty conveniently ran out which was total non-sense.
