I have been wearing my Fitbit for two and a half weeks and my resting heart rate has been increasing virtually everyday, despite very little lifestyle changes or stress. I first put it on on Sunday afternoon and it registered 64bpm. The following day it dropped to 58bpm (presumably as it could calculate my sleep rate) but it has since increased at least 1bpm every day. I wear it virtually 24/7 and it is now 71bpm. Is it normal to creep steadily from 58bpm to 71bpm over two and a half weeks??!! Is 71bpm a more accurate score as it has more data behind it? I feel at this rate my heart is due to explode by the end of next month!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Anna1978! If your resting heart rate suddenly changed, I'd like to start saying that your tracker can have difficulty finding a signal, typically due to the tracker's fit. For example, wearing your band tightly may constrict blood flow in your wrist and affect the signal. We recommend experimenting with how high you place the tracker on your wrist. When you're not exercising, wearing the tracker just above the wrist bone--as you would a watch--typically works fine. However, moving the tracker up a couple inches can be helpful during high-intensity exercises or exercises that cause you to bend your wrist frequently. If you haven't already done so, please review our recommendations for wear and other tips shared by @SantiFitbit.
Resting heart rate measures your heart beats when you are still, and it can be an important indicator of the health of your heart. According to the American Heart Association website, “the average resting heart rate is 60-80 beats per minute, but it’s usually lower for physically fit people.” This is because “active people often have lower heart rates because their heart muscle is in better condition and doesn’t need to work as hard.” Also, the average resting heart rate rises with age.
Resting heart rate refers to the heart rate measured when you’re awake, calm, comfortable, and have not recently exerted yourself. We use your heart rate data from when you’re awake and asleep to estimate your resting heart rate. For best accuracy, wear your device to sleep.
Your resting heart rate is usually higher than your heart rate while you are asleep, so don’t be surprised if your resting heart rate is higher than the lowest number that you see in your heart rate graphs.
If you're taking a look at the heart rate on your Fitbit app, I'd recommend doing the following:

Mine is doing exactly the same thing, has there been a update or something that could be causing this? After working fine for a month my charge 3 stopped connecting, I had to remove and add again

Hello Xiaoduxi, my heart beat did eventually average out to around 67/68 bpm, but from what I understand, if you're female your heartbeat changes throughout the month. Or perhaps the first few days' data is unreliable when you first get a fitbit? In the end I only ended up wearing the watch for a few months as I developed a pain in my wrist, which a few other commentators have complained of too. But I did learn some useful data during the time I was wearing it.

I stopped wearing my Fitbit for over a year per doctor’s recommendation. All devices like this can interfere with the body’s natural rhythms and I was very ill. I recently started wearing it again and I saw the same thing as you - resting HR increased gradually over the past 2 weeks. I decided to take it off for a week and when I put it back on for 24 hours and found my resting HR to be slightly lower than the last reading. I believe I am being affected by the Bluetooth and other tech that the band uses. I am only going to wear it occasionally to monitor my sleep. Not worth the negative affect on my heart.

I have the same issue
I've been wearing a fitbit for a couple of years now and the heartrate has been constant.
However, since the last month its been creeping up by 1bpm every day, without any change to my current lifestyle
very strange and somewhat worrying

Roadrunner2,
I have the exact same issue as you. Previously my resting HR has always been between 63-66BPM, with some minimal exceptions of particularly stressful days. However over the past 2 weeks it has been increasing by exactly 1 BPM per day, whereby today it has reached 76BPM.
As you say strange and worrying as I don't know if it is just the Charge 3 or an actual issue with my ticker!!

Micky
same issue for me. Since the latest firmware update my resting heart rate has been increasing. I was averaging about 55bpm and now I’m up to 61bpm. I have also noticed that when sleeping my heart rate used to go as low as 42 and now the lowest is about 48-50. Definitely something to do with the charge 3 I reckon. Glad all these replies indicate the same thing and it’s not my ticker.

My RHR has been between 50 and 53 since getting the Sense last spring, and like you, it would commonly drop to 42 while sleeping, but within the past couple of weeks it levelled out at 52 for about 5 days, and now it has increased 1/day up to 60 (where it is now).
I am sorry this reply isn't necessarily indicating no concern though, as I also seem to now have a higher heart rate overall, and I am definitely burning more calories as a result (I track my food as well).
Unfortunately it seems the doctors aren't concerned when it rises about 10bpm over 2 weeks if it was low to begin with, but the 147 zone minutes I achieved today without any exercise suggests otherwise.
I am actually hoping someone here might be able to shed some light on this?

Same issue, worked fine and now has gone up 1 beat per minute over the last two weeks - up 9 beats now. Any suggestions?
