Salute readout no longer working

My Charge 3 used to automatically light up the clock face when I moved my wrist quickly up to see it. Somewhere that was called salute something or another. That recently stopped working and I have to push button to see the time. Is there a fix? It is most inconvenient to have to use both hands to check the time.

"Screen Wake'.  Press side button a few seconds to get to 'Quick Settings'; scroll down to Screen Wake; tap to toggle on or off.

If that doesn't work, would might be in Sleep Mode.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
