I put my fit bit on the charger. He has been showing white lines since then. I have already tried to restart, but this has no effect.

Same with me

I think the Fitbit charge 3 is made to only work for about 1 year because mine is again broken...

This time there are no white lines, but the screen has a lot of black spots. Because of this the screen isn't readable. I already did the hard reset and stuff, but this doesn't work :(.

Same here.. Charge 3 was fine, put it on the charger and when I took it off the lines were there.  Called support last night and was snottily told since I've had it a whopping 14 months I was out of luck with getting it fixed/replaced but hey we'll give you 25% off on a new one.  Excuse me for thinking something I paid $$ for should last at least a couple years. Had a HR charge, charge 2 and now 3....problems with each one. I do find it suspicious that so many of us had the exact same thing happen at the exact same time.  Will be replacing it with something from another company since these are nothing but expensive junk that the company does NOT stand behind. .

I have the same issue. I bought mine 5 months ago and about a week ago it started to go black.  I can still read eveything, but the clock is slowly disappearing.  Did you get a fix fo it @Annicks ?

I have had my fitbit charge 3 for half a year, first I had syncing issues and now I have several black lines horizontally across my screen. I have tried every 'solution' on these forums, hard/soft reset, uninstalling the app (losing my data in the process), leaving it to charge over night, changing clock face, the list goes on. My device is barely redable. And for the record I have never been swimming or showered with the device. I take it off (because I think that would break it, clearly i'm right!)

I am still waiting for a response about a replacement because honestly 6 months into ownership and there are still hundreds of people with the same issues. I'm beginning to think I should go to another company? Maybe Garmin? Honestly I don't mind about spending more money if the device will actually work. So far my experience with fitbit has been pretty poor. Hopefully someone can rectify this with a replacement device.

I am having the same issue with black vertical lines across the screen.  I received the Charge 3 as Christmas gift December 2019, so it is 5 months old.  Started 3-4 weeks ago with a single line.  Now I have multiple lines. Some are either getting wider or multiple lines, so they are blocking out more and more information.

I have done a soft reset and a hard reset and reconnect. Neither worked.

Can't find a solution online.  I suspect the device is going out.

no, mine was 14 months old so the best they would do was give me 25% off on a new one. Not going there, will be checking out

Hey @Annicks did you ever get yours resolved? I'm having same issue.. Or sounds the same and neither reset helped.

Hi Crystaaal,

My ticket got resolved! Fitbit sent me a new one because I still had guarantee.

But my fitbit broke down for the second time, so they gave me the choice between a new one of 50% off a other fitbit product. So I have the versa 2. No I'll wait and see how long the versa 2 will last

I no longer had any confidence in the charge models.

As of last week, mine also suddenly started showing white lines. This is my second Fitbit as the previous one was replaced by Fitbit as the stair step was malfunction.

7 days later, no reply from Fitbit.

Starting to feel that Fitbit 3 is a prototype where they fix the flaws to the Charge 4.

Never had such bad experience before with Fitbit. Charge 2 was working fine.

I've had a HR, Charge 2 and now the Charge 3. Each one had to be replaced at least once (the charge 2 twice) and now 14 months after buying the charge 3 far as fitbit is concerned I can just buy another one oh but they'll give me 25% off on it. Funny how mine didn't do it until 14 months yet some others are 6 months and under. Wondering if they screwed up again with one of the updates (just like the time change fried units last time) accidentally or deliberately and don't want to admit it? Me, I'm going to wear it until I can't read it then replace it with probably a Garmin. Done with ftibit's bs.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I will look into Garmin. It's annoying not getting a clear answer from Fit bit and being told to purchase a new one. That is not a solution.

Hey thanks for sharing. This is brutal to hear and I can't say I am surprised. So far anything Fitbit I am surprised there are as big of a company as they are. Nothing but problems and brutal for return contact and solutions. Always the run around. I hope you get some better luck with yours, soon 🙂

I recently had this same thing happen. I have had my Fitbit quite a bit longer. Since this forum is a year and a half old I don’t know if anything will come of this. But, I have rebooted and cleared data a couple of times. It lightened the lives for a few minutes and then they returned. I hope there is something to do about this as this is my second Fitbit charge. My wife and I had bought two. Mine went black screen and no matter how many times I reset and rebooted, it just wouldn’t return. So she gave me hers as she didn’t wear it as often. I was happy for several months, until this. I know these are like little computers and won’t last terribly long but I take care of mine and I expected them both to last longer than a year and half.

Exactly it's not like they cost $20. Their "discount offer" because it was over 12 months old (14) was a joke. No only couldn't I get a black on black Charge 3 (only rose gold) but they still expected me to fork out almost $100 and not even get what I wanted. I wore it with the lines for a while (hard to read but still worked), saved my money and bought a new one (black on black) for much less on ebay. Considering it wasn't anything I did that caused it their customer service really sucks. I don't have an apple phone or I would have just bought the apple watch.

Unfortunately, my screen is now completely black. Fitbit is aware of the glitch but refuses to o rectify the situation. There answer is to buy another one. That is what I was told by customer service. I am disappointed with the quality and service. This is my fourth Fitbit.
