Sleep stages not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since April 30 (about a month) I have got fewer and fewer times that the sleep stages works.  Prior to that I had them work well for about 2 years.  I have tried all the community and fitbit advice and none of that has worked.  Have they changes the algorithms recently?

@ChrisATL Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well!

Let me help you with your sleep stages and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. You don't mention what you tried but you may not get sleep stages for the following reasons:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi Alvaro
I have tried all of this:
If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight. I DO THIS AND IT WORKED WELL FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS - BTW MY ARM/WRIST IS THIN

If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed).
I DO NOT USE THIS

If you slept for less than 3 hours. NO USUALLY 8 HOURS

If your device's battery is critically low. NO I CHARGE IT REGULARLY

ALSO THE FOLLOWING DID NOT WORK
I also tried switching with my husband and it tracked OK for him using my Fitbit, and also tried on sensitive sleep setting for a couple of nights.
I also covered it with a loose headband to hold secure. I also tried resetting the firmwear and software as suggested in some emails.

Any more ideas?
