Well, I have another Iphone on which I installed Drivebit, which works fine there. Still, I don't bother with short driving trips and only use it with longer journeys. I'm extremely happy with my Charge2 and I haven't missed a daily goal since I bought it. Also, I added some friends which keep me motivated to not drop my guard.

You're welcome. You might want to check out this other thread https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Add-quot-Driving-Mode-quot-Feature-to-avoid-erro... and I urge all the posters in this current thread to do it as well. If you have a look at my last post on page 18 you can see what I did after another poster's suggestion. You never know... we might give the developers some food for thought if enough customers do the same...

Why does this have to be a manual entry or adjustment? Each Fitbit is paired with a mobile device which, in essence, has GPS enabled capability to show distance traveled vs time. A simple algorithm in the software should be able to tell if you are driving. Since most of us have our phones with us when driving (hopefully not being used while driving) the Fitbit should not recognize movements when traveling at speeds beyond 20 MPH, which I don't believe the vast majority of Fitbit users exceed that pace while on foot.

Hi. Probably (or surely) the ways to solve the problem are more than one and I am ready to bet that the Fitbit people would have no problem implementing an effective one, whether manual or automatic. Simply there is no will to do it and, after so many years of complaints, that is a fact...

Blaze. That said, yes, you would think over a certain speed it wouldn't
register.

This is quite an issue for me as well; it's very difficult to remove the driving "steps and stairs". I've had my Charge 2 for a week and it's going back. Last night it logged 2100 steps while I was knitting while sitting in a chair. Perhaps it was logging my wrist activity, which clearly are not steps! It's unacceptable to put in so much work to remove steps that were not earned. If there are functions for treadmill, running, etc., why not a function for "resting" that you could select during driving (or knitting)? Too much money to spend on something that only works accurately half the time.

I have logged driving however now it registers as an exercise. Having a 5 day a week goalset, I basically achieve this goalset by driving to work. Crazy!

Another thing crazy is that this topic is suggested solved 😄
The adding driving activity is a fail workaround. I remember I tried it long time ago.. it did remove the steps but not my calories burned.
The feature to remove/edit our data is highly neccessary but let us completely remove it, replace it with just the calories burned from laying down doing nothing, omitting any input from the tracker.
Cover the data up by enetering a driving activity!!!! The amount of stupidity!!!
My suggested solution is... have your app sense when it´s connected to the cars bluetooth and put input data from tracker on pause so to speak. It will not cover all of your users but it would be a neat one and I wouldn´t dissagree the topic as solved. It´s not solved. It´s if I may say a very badly, half arsed bandaided not even worth calling workaround. I hate workarounds, fix your stuff!
Must I add that the automatic "in car" sensing suggestion... we want it as a selectable option! We are not all sheep.

Sold the Merc and went basic. The bluetooth would not solve the problem for me, however the "algorithm" (word used to sound intelligent) should easily be solved based on the speed of travel, the distance and duration of exercise. These three should be able to easily detect whether you are in a car or not. The delete option should then be necessary only in the rarest of times.

Try forgetting the tracker in a bag 😄 Delete option is needed, maybe rarely but don´t tell fitbit as they will rarely fix anything, add to that something that is rarely needed.

I've tried deleting the steps this works but it logs it as exercise and still includes calories burn charging it while on the road is not really an option as it will bounce around you probably get damaged or damage from overcharging as I drive long-distance my solution would be an update which offers you a drivers mode where it does not count anything during this mode or a away mode sleep mode summit like that would be better for a lot of people with this problem

Please check the calories burnt. Is it concurrent with the steps? or is it
just the amount of calories that are burnt by normal metabolism. FITBIT
adds calories even if you are sitting in one place. Because this is the
amount of calories required for your body's metabolism.

Unless it uses GPS to detect if you are moving or not and at what speed, it will always detect steps while driving.
Wonder if the ionic is any better in this respect?

"I don't have the option to "dashboard>log>activities" like is suggested to fix this problem. I have a dashboard but nowhere does it say "log" or "activities" anywhere on my app. This is getting very frustrating.

It is not on the mobile app. It is on the website portal. Once you log in, see the top right corner for dashboard and click on it. Then you will be able to access log>activities and log your activity.
But the simplest way of doing this is to use TravelBit app. You just need to hit the start button when you start driving and stop button once you stop. It will automatically update your Fitbit records accordingly. As a one time set up, you will be required to link your Fitbit account. It also has the option of altering the time and duration of driving. You can manually enter the date and time, which will sync with your Fitbit account. That's how I do it.
