Storm in the Netherlands and stairs ..

Today the stair count was far off (45) and all stairs where taken when I went outside for a one in thour walk the storm. The Fitbit has never be so far off in counting stairs. It must be something to do with the pressure outside with the storm.

Is my theory possible? Or is it a big mailfunction in the Fitbit.

You are exactly right.  Fitbit detects stairs from an altimeter to detect the usual changes in air pressure from a 10 foot elevation change.  Any time the air pressure is changing rapidly, that will affect the stair count, or even a gust of wind or opening a door.

But fortunately stair count does not affect anything else, even calorie burn.
