@fastphil  The Charge 2 is not waterproof and should not be worn swimming.

@fastphil Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Like @LZeeW said your Charge 2 isn't waterproof so it is not recommended you swim with it as it may damage the tracker. You can check the manual for more information about this. Regarding your swimming session you can log them manually on your account so you have a record of them and a caloric burn calculation.

I have a Charge 2 specifically modified (option when I bought) to be waterproof for swimming. Unfortunately, the app for the Charge 2 hasn't been updated to track swimming correctly - distance only tracks in tenths of a mile, no option to add swimming in fitbit.com, can't enter pool length). Maybe eventually they'll make an app for the waterproofed Charge 2.

There are all kinds of inconsistencies like the one you describe throughout the Fitbit ecosystem.  It's disappointing, unprofessional, unpolished, and frustrating.

@MkSwmFly Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

@MkSwmFly @flyerfocus I would like to clarify that the Charge 2 doesn't have the ability to track your swimming since it wasn't designed for this purpose nor it has the algorithms to detect it. This is why you don't any swimming settings like swimming pool length like the Flex 2 shows on the app. Additionally the tracker isn't sold "waterproofed" by Fitbit so this was most likely modified by a third party company and modified trackers aren't covered by Fitbit's warranty.

Since charge 2 isn’t waterproof , what if I wrapped my arm with Saran Wrap or a baggy with rubber bands on both sides just for tracking heart rate and calories 😳?

Best Answer

@Artz It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! I wouldn't recommend this. You still can try but there is no guarantee no water will get into the tracker and you will be placing it at risk. The best thing to do is logging it as mentioned in one of my previous posts. If you really wish to track your swimming sessions then check out the Flex 2 or the Versa, both can be worn while swimming. This is only if you wish to purchase a tracker capable of swim tracking.

I know I can't wear my fitbit when swimming but how can I manually log my swim on Samsung Galaxy Tablet A6. My daily swim is an  800 mtrs medley. Approx 40mins.

@DavidPalk Welcome! It's good that the community is growing! You can manually log your swimming sessions by following these instructions. While it won't detailed, it should help with your caloric burn calculation on your account.

I’ve not been swimming with mine but it’s just accidentally taken a swim in the washing machine and then the tumble dryer and amazingly it’s working perfectly and super clean 😬🤦🏻‍:female_sign:🤣🤣

So if I had a flex 2 my dashboard would be different and I would be able to track my swimming?
