Synching Fitbit and Strava

I'm having problems properly synching my Charge 4 fitbit to my new Strava account.  I've followed the linking guidelines available online and both on my Fitbit and Strava accts it says they are connected.  So it looks like there should be no problem.  But when I go for a run,  logging it on my fitbit watch without bringing my phone, the exercise data won't go to Strava--but it will go on my Fitbit app as two separate runs.   Does this make sense to anyone?  Thanks!

@MunchieLondon , Thank you for your reply.

Your answer confirms my suspicions. As you see, the data recorded with the app, got the map, so it was using the GPS.

The data from the Charge 4, don't show any map, meaning, GPS was recording any data.

As only the data with GPS info is sync between Strava and Fitbit, you only see, right now, the data from the phone.

Please try these steps to try to reset the Connected GPS connection between your Charge 4 and cell phone.

Some you might have done already but the order is important.

  • Restart your Charge 4.
  • Please on cell phone , go to Settings>Bluetooth, and remove all connections that exist with the tracker. (Forget, ignore or unpair device depending on the phone OS version)
  • Turn off Bluetooth and restart your phone. (switch off and on again).
  • When the phone is back on, turn on the Bluetooth again, but DO NOT attempt to connect to the tracker from here.
  • Go on the app. From here, try setting up the tracker as a new device.

Make sure that the Fitbit app is allowed to run on the background and with the cell phone display off too.

Try to record another activity with connected GPS.

Hope this helps

If I record a run from my Fitbit watch, it won't automatically sync to Strava. GPS is on.

However, if I record a run from the Fitbit app on my phone it syncs fine. I used to be able to do both without issue.

Any idea on how to fix this please?

@MunchieLondon @mgoff357 , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your messages.

In order for the Activities to be synced with Strava, you'll need:

To have both accounts linked (Fitbit &Strava)

Record the activities with a GPS connection.

Sync the Tracker with the Fitbit app

Then the data will be synced with both accounts.

@MunchieLondon, when you record your activities do you see on the summary in the Fitbit app a map?

See you around

Hi. The accounts are definitely linked. If I record a run using Fitbit app on my phone then I see a map and it syncs to Strava. If I record a run from my Fitbit watch, then I don’t see a map and it doesn’t sync to Strava. Both used to work fine. I haven’t changed the GPS settings

thanks
