Just got a new phone (Huawei p30 pro) and the fit it app has downloaded but it won't let me sync the watch with the app  please help

Do you still have your old phone? If so, make sure it doesn't still have a connection to the fitbit in its bluetooth settings as this could be blocking connection to your new phone.
