cracked face on charge 2

has anyone else had the issue of a cracked face on your charge 2? It's happened twice now. They reluctantly replaced the first one stating that they would be unable to replace it again. This is not an impact crack or heat related but 2 parallel vertical cracks on the face. Seems like a design defect in my limited experience.

Wow I can not believe this is a wide spread problem.  I thought I had done something but could not imagine what I could have done to cause the two cracks that I have.  This is my 4-5 Fitbit (different models). I think I will give it up and find something else.  At first it was awesome to beat my friends but it’s more about my steps so doesn’t matter what everyone else has!  Yep no more money to Fitbit

Thank you for your answer. You obviously didn't understand this is not an impact crack and it has not been left in the heat but Thx anyway.

Hi There,

Yes i have this problem and so do hundreds of other users.  The problem is as you have found, fitbit have not made any modification to the unit and therefore the same problem has happened again.

Fitbit have offered me a replacement also however, they have also advised me that their replacement items are not new that they will be someone else s return and also that it is a one time replacement offer.

I cannot understand how they have the neck to offer a replacement as a one time offer when they have made no modification to prevent the same issue reoccurring.

Thank you for sharing your issue with us.  I only wish that you had had some answers from a FIT BIT representative.

I would like to encourage all those with the same issue to post as it may be the only way we will get some resolve, although, i have seen hundreds of posts and still no progress!!!

Good luck to you in getting this resolved!!

Power in numbers. Then going public. Corporations must be forced to do the right thing. Sad fitbit seems to be the same.

Diamondgirl on this thread has a solution the company may listen to. I accepted her reply as a solution.

Mine has the 2 parallel cracks too! They seem to get worse every day. This is due to nothing I have done. They just appeared and has slowly gotten worse every day. I am so disappointed.

I feel mine cracked as a result of changing the band. I hope they address this issue. Obviously a design flaw. Insist on a new one.

Mine started cracking with the original band still on it. My original band just broke about a month ago and I replaced it. By then the cracks were already pretty significant. They just continue to get worse.

I have been very happy with my Charge 2 until yesterday when I noticed two cracks on my screen. I haven't done anything to damage it ? I still have the original band. I decided to Google and see what I could fine on the problem. OMG the cracks are very common. How can FITBIT know about the problem and NOT FIX IT !!! I really want a NEW Charge2 to replace mine with the cracked screen.

Well, there ya go. My theory doesn't hold up. Its just plain bad design that needs to be addressed by the company. The for your feedback. Maybe they will see this and do something about it.

Could the cracks be related to altitude and a change in air pressure?

I just got back from a trip to Peru. Our tour group was sitting around in the JUL airport @ 12,500 ft waiting for our flight when we started talking about our Fitbits. A fellow traveler said her Charge 2 had developed a crack in its face. I told her mine was fine and rolled up my sleeve to show her. But after rolling up my sleeve, I noticed a vertical crack in my Charge 2 also. D*mn. After noticing we both had cracked faces, she asked a third traveler who she knew had a Fitbit also. The third person had a larger model (probably an Ionic) and she assured us her Fitbit was fine. But when she went to look, she had a crack in the face of her Fitbit too!! Coincidence??? Fitbit engineering probably knows but they aren't saying. I've had my Charge 2 only 10 months so I can probably get a replacement.

My first unit cracked before my trip to Peru. (Fantastic trip by the way). Sounds like its way too common of a problem. I live at 5000 ft and planes are pressurised to 8 or 9. The company better get it together. Love the system but......

Get on them! I saw an ad for fitbit on twitter before Xmas and put in my opinion and advice to people considering purchasing and got instant attention from the company. My first one cracked before one year, the second a few months later. They tried to tell me it was out of warranty ( 1 year). They gave me another. Make your complaints public and see what happens.
