How the hell do I get this thing to synch.  Looked all over the web page for a synch button but don't see it.

If it on the computer is the dongle plugged in to a USB port?

To force a sync on your computer, right click the Fitbit Connect icon (located next to the time) and then click "Sync Now".

Depending on your operating system, the Fitbit Connect icon may or may not show in your system tray. If not, run Fitbit Connect from your program list; and when the window opens up, click on Sync Now.

Phone Open up the app. Tap on the unit top screen then when on the next page Tap the unit again and it should strat syncing.

Why would there not just be a menu option on the dashboard that says synch?  Why make it so difficult?  I spent 10 minutes looking for some option to synch on the dashboard before giving up and sending an email.   For some reason fitbit stoped synching with my android this morning. So I thought just synch from the desktop computer.  Seems your engineers like to make things difficult for your customers by playing hide and seek with the synch option. This, the wrist burn issue mean after this watch gives out, I won't be getting another fitbit.

So you still haven't said why fit bit stoped synching to my android.  BTW I have wasted tons of time searching for and trying solutions in your not so helpful files.

As you are still having trouble getting through to fitbit let me offer some thoughts.

Syncing via the web dashboard is not there to protect your security. If web pages were able to run programs on the computer think of the damage rogue sites could cause. So it's not allowed. Instead you can force a sync via the fitbit connect program. You do this by right clicking on the fitbit connect icon at the bottom right of your PC screen (near the clock) and selecting "sync now".

When a fitbit stops syncing the best bet is a restart of your fitbit using this procedure:

https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186/

This is much like rebooting your PC - it does no harm and can sort out all sorts of issues. The only problem with it is that it doesn't always work so it's recommended to try this at least 3 times.

I hope that kicks things back into life.

I note you have posted a few times so I hope I am responding to the right one here.

I don't show a Fitbit Connect icon in my system tray. Fitbit Connect is not in my program list either as I never installed any Fitbit program on my computer. Very frustrating that coming to the website is such a total waste of time. I too searched everywhere with absolutely no luck at all. I got this Charge 2 knowing the screen was small but thinking I could go online and look at everything there. For the money Fitbit charges for these things, I would think they would make their website work.

I login and it says no steps (no anything, for that matter) yet I've been quite active this morning. Apparently the tooth fairy flew me to work and walked the dog for me this morning. I wish she would have introduced herself. Totally baffled as to why they would make it this freaking hard to sync online and view the results. Screwed again. I won't be buying one for my wife and daughter as I had originally planned. All this does is aggravate the heck out of people.

I've given up. For the money FitBit charges for these things, you'd think they would get something right. You simply can not sync on the web site...and by the time you realize that you're so aggravated that it makes you hate anything FitBit. The app is 100% useless on an iPad ...especially if you have a keyboard attached...as FitBit simply doesn't know how make it go into landscape mode on an iPad...and has even gone to great lengths to prevent that from happening to force you to use it on your iPhone only. So, resolved to using this only on an iPhone (and having accepted the fact that it's useless on the site online as well as not being usable on an iPad) now it hasn't recorder any of my sleep info the last 2 consecutive nights. Gives some excuse about it being moved around while I was sleeping...so, in other words, you may need to strap your arm securely to the bed post so as not to disturb the fitbit. Deleting the app after this on both my iPhone and iPad, deleting the bookmark to their site, and putting this garbage in the night stand drawer and forgetting about. Going to have to eat the money I paid for this one but thankfully I had the foresight to get just 1 and check it out before buy the other 2 I had intended.

When I woke up one morning, I noticed that I had already 39 steps....( went to bed way before midnight )

What about that ?

At least you have a chance to meet Toothfairy Smiley Wink

Yes! The Tooth Fairy was the only thing that kept from smashing the Fitbit and throwing it in the garbage. Turns out she remembered me from my childhood too, so we talked about old times during the flight to work.

That doesn't work, just get the standard copy paste.  Unless there is some mysterious icon I'm not aware of, sort of like the non existant sync button?

I can't find my dongle, I hate this thing.  I go through this every 6 months.

Every 6 months I'm here trying to remember wtf?  Where is it?  Oh yea, its not here.  And the **ahem**ing dongal is of course who knows where, like I don't have enough electronic crap to keep track of.

As soon as there is a non iphone watch that does fall alerts I'm going there.  My second fitbit, so frustrated.

What worked for me - go into iPhone Settings, Fitbit app, turned Bluetooth to "on."

Strongly agree with other posts - there should be a synch icon on the phone app screen and web page.
